About the role
What you need to know:
This role is a dual purpose with both Employee Relations and HR Business Partner functions. Employee Relations is the primary focus and labor relations management is a significant responsibility. The candidate is expected to be the Point of Contact for all union matters and as such, the candidate will be handling the Labor Management Council (LMC), Disciplinary Committee, Rules of Employment, Salary and Collective Bargaining Negotiations. The candidate will also take the lead in conducting workplace investigations, resolution of employee concerns and issues, and representing the Company before the Labor Relations Commission (LRC), National Human Rights Commissions (NHRC), and other relevant government agencies. The candidate is expected to implement country and corporate programs and initiatives on workplace behavior and decorum, performance concern, and reorganization. The candidate is expected to be able to provide strategic and tactical advice, guidance, or plans from an Employee Relations perspective, and must be able to communicate such to the different stakeholders, locally, regionally or globally.
The candidate is expected to perform certain HRBP roles such as leading mandatory training on proper workplace behavior and decorum, ensuring that stakeholders are aware and compliant of local employment laws and regulations, and take appropriate actions to address any gaps regarding compliance to relevant laws and regulations. Provide guidance and advice on performance issues and concerns, reorganization or restructuring. The candidate must also be able to prepare applicable and relevant policies that would address current and future employment trends in
Union Relations
Manage all the Union matters as the main contact internally and externally
Prepare, manage and complete Collective Bargaining timely every year so that TDC adjustment is made in pace with global cycle.
Ensure and maintain harmonious and productive relationship with the Union
LMC (Labor Management Council) operation
Act as secretary for LMC and representative for employer.
Coordinate and Operate LMC in compliance with relevant laws
Manage representatives of labor side with professional manner
Manage grievance handling committee which is under LMC as appropriate.
Employee Relations
Manage complex employee issues and concerns (both individually and collectively)
Manage the operation of Disciplinary Committee
Respond to any labor dispute at Ministry of Labor, Labor Commission and Court
Keep local HR policies and procedures up to date to 100% comply with local regulations and Korea Labor Standard Act
Local perspectives on global policy initiatives including localization requirements
Effectively communicate to assist with the effective labor-management relations
Manage Grievance Handling Committee representing the employer in compliance with Rules Of Employee and laws
Manage Servicenow case management system to update and maintain this
HR Business Partner
Support the organization's employee relations and provide training s to leadership team on ER trends and relevant laws
Ensuring the responsible business units conform to all relevant statutory and employment law requirements
Proactively identify, manage and mitigate people risk /develop and support the people agenda through relevant ER process and/or initiatives
Establish engagements methods to improve facilitation of HR and ER initiatives and to ensure such initiatives are effectively implemented
What we’re looking for:
10+ years of ER/HR experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of experience; insurance or financial services industry preferred
Strong technical understanding of employment laws, regulations and practices
Knowledge of best practices in HR/ER policies, practices and solutions
Broad generalist HR experience across multiple HR practice areas including talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development, compensation & benefits, and performance management
Strong operational generalist experience, with in-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures and risks
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the presence and ability to interact and build credibility across all levels of staff
Ability to deal with ambiguity
Global experience a plus
