About Position / Position Summary

·       Boeing Defense and Space Analytics team is looking for Delivery Lead - Software Full Stack to provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural ownership for large-scale, mission-critical enterprise and data-intensive platforms. This role combines end-to-end system design, cloud modernization, and full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, observability, and security. The Technical Lead will drive the end-to-end process of migrating applications from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based architectures and mentor internal and vendor teams while remaining deeply hands-on with Java and React-based solutions.

This role will be based out of Bengaluru, India.

 

Position Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on technical leadership in the design and development of scalable full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and React.

• Lead end-to-end system design and solution architecture for complex, distributed enterprise and data-intensive platforms.

• Lead application and data migration from on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including large-scale dataset migrations.

• Architect systems with strong focus on scalability, high availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.

• Drive service reliability engineering practices, including observability, logging, monitoring, alerting, incident management, and continuous improvement.

• Design and optimize data ingestion, transformation, validation, caching, and batch-processing solutions for large-scale workloads handling millions of records.

• Champion test-driven development, automated testing, and CI/CD practices with strong quality gates and shift-left testing approaches.

• Perform and guide architecture reviews and code reviews to ensure adherence to Boeing engineering standards.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Mentor and coach engineers, including vendor and partner resources, and elevate overall engineering maturity across teams.

• Support Agile delivery through estimation, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 16+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java and React for large-scale enterprise applications.

• Excellent programming skills in: Java / J2EE, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, REST) ; React JS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Node.js as part of the full-stack ecosystem

• Proven experience working on large-scale, data-intensive systems handling millions of records.

• Strong experience in data migration, data transformation, and validation from legacy systems to cloud platforms.

• Strong exposure to AWS services, including: Amazon Aurora (RDS) and EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch

• Designed, deployed, and operated containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes in production-scale cloud environments.

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems.

• Strong experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent), including data modeling and complex queries.

• Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, mocks).

• Demonstrated experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ) :

• Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments on AWS and/or GCP.

• Experience contributing to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, monitoring, and release management.

• Proven experience supporting large-scale data migration initiatives and data-intensive platforms.

• Working knowledge of SAFe Agile, pair programming, and modern engineering best practices in scaled Agile environments.

• Domain experience in Aerospace, Defense, Navigation, or Geospatial systems is highly desirable.

The strategic focus includes:

• Role Balance: 50% hands-on coding and 50% design and architectural leadership.

• Vendor Oversight: These leads will manage deliverables from our external vendors, ensuring their output meets our 2026 quality standards and architectural requirements.

• Future-Proofing: They will ensure the 2026 tech stack is maintainable, high-quality, and built to scale.

Typical Education & Experience:

 ·       Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 17+ years' related work experience or Master’s Degree with 16+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
