Philips Medizin Systeme Böblingen develops and produces patient monitoring systems for the global market. The devices are mainly used in intensive care medicine, pregnancy and newborn monitoring, surgery and anesthesia. You will be part of the Sustaining & Value Engineering team, which takes care of the care and maintenance of our active product portfolio. The tasks vary from design changes due to material discontinuations, quality improvements, cost savings to ensuring that the latest standards and norms are met.
You will take on the role of Engineering Responsible Manager for products from the Intellivue family in post release phase. You will be first point of contact regarding possible product changes and technical questions and will be evaluating and approving every change to the product.
Your responsibility will be to ensure the quality of the products as well as the corresponding documentation throughout the product lifecycle in all the product change projects. You will be leading projects to bring changes and product improvements to the patients and users. In this role you will work closely together with colleagues, for example from Regulatory, Quality, Product Industrialization, Manufacturing and Test Development.
Your role:
Owning of the product design documentation (Design history file)
Ensuring that product documents comply with internal specifications (Quality Management System), requirements are traceable within the framework of the changes and that the product complies with required standards
Representing the product in internal and external audits
Ensuring that the changes do not have a negative impact on the quality of the product
Leading the problem-solving discussions with experts of various competence areas and participating in product related CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
You're the right fit if:
A degree in the field of engineering, preferably electrical engineering (B.Sc., M.Sc., Dipl.-Ing.)
Several years of professional experience with medical technology products
Very good understanding and experience working in regulated industry and familiar with processes like product development, design verification, design changes, risk management
Good understanding of external standards, especially IEC 60601-1
A very high level of quality awareness
A high ability to self-organize
Experience in project management of smaller projects in cross-functional teams
German language skills

The Sustaining & Value Engineering department is interdisciplinary and intercultural, with locations spread over 4 countries. Due to the wide range of products and areas of responsibility, you will have the opportunity to gain many new insights and develop your competency in various areas within the change projects. We have clear product owners, but this does not mean you are alone in this, we have a team that shares the knowledge, and you will have the support of experienced colleagues. Due to our international orientation of the team, you will also work on projects with colleagues across national borders.
