The Position
Reporting to the country medical director, as Therapeutic Area Leader in Breast, you will lead the medical strategy of your Therapeutic Area (TA), driving the alignment and the quality of medical plans with a clear focus on the patient. You effectively lead the medical and biomarker experts (MEs) of the TA, being the medical reference for the pipeline of the TA and coordinating interactions with the Integrated Squad Team (IST).
Your Main Responsibilities
Medical leadership of your TA focusing especially on fostering relationships with key external stakeholders.
Medical leadership of your TA and pipeline for internal, international, and local teams/stakeholders. Work closely and bidirectionally with PDG and PDMA.
Medical Strategy. You will lead, inspire, and empower the team in relation to:
Medical plans, ensuring quality and alignment within the TA and with the global strategic plan.
Medical prioritization of your area's pipeline.
Generation of evidence (clinical trials, NIS, RWD, IIS, etc.) and publication plans.
Mapping and engagement of TAEs.
Medical education and scientific projects, including public programs.
Implementation of medical tactics at the national/international level.
Budget for medical activities in collaboration with the IST.
Team leadership
You will bring the medical vision of your TA (focusing on the patient). You will play a key role in the design of the global strategy of your area.
You will help the team achieve ambitious outcomes.
You will lead the planning/optimization of medical resources in your TA.
You will empower MEs to make and execute decisions.
You will develop a high-performance team.
You will collaborate with ecosystems to align the medical strategy of the plans and ensure their correct local implementation, interacting with them and MEs in the analysis of insights, medical needs, and medical projects co-created with HCPs/patients that arise in the ecosystems within your TA.
You will foster compliance with the medical strategy and tactical plans of your TA.
Who You Are; Qualification and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Medicine or in Health Science.
Post graduate specialization and clinical practice experience desired
High level of English required (also Spanish is required)
Understanding of medical and strategic aspects of all drug development stages
Knowledge of the legislation in place. Desirable In-depth understanding of the Code of Practice of FarmaIndustria
In-depth knowledge of oncology diseases
5+ years relevant Pharmaceutical industry experience
Experience in people management is desired
