As a Staff Engineer, you will contribute to business-driven projects and programs that expand and enhance offerings of Financial and Non- Financial risk and Audit products. As such, your key role will be defining technical solutions for Financial and Non- Financial risk and Audit product initiatives, particularly around the 3 Lines of Assurance (3LOA), and working with the engineering teams on the solutions delivering, that will meet our Group’s safe, sound and secure standards. 

 

Other duties will include: 

  • Lead the design and development of highly reliable and scalable data pipelines and data platforms with comprehensive test coverage. 
  • Develop strategic data programs and data products. 
  • Participate in domain planning, providing guidance to ensure that technical deliveries are aligned to engineering direction and strategy. 
  • Partner with teams to engineer improvements to the scaling and reliability of our services. 
  • Provide data engineering practice consultancy across platforms, products and delivery teams. 
  • Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement within the team and in delivery of products. 
  • Deliver high quality, sustainable solutions to meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks and by applying industry best practice. 
  • Develop reusable frameworks and tooling to accelerate data engineering maturity. 
  • Provide thought leadership, mentorship and up-skilling to other engineering teams. 
     

Your Skills & Experience 

  • Tertiary education in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. 
  • Demonstrable experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams, stakeholders, review boards and committees to deliver technology outcomes. 
  • Experienced in designing, deploying and managing scalable, resilient and high performing systems within complex, hybrid cloud (ideally in AWS) and on-premise, enterprise-grade environments. 
  • Finance and Risk  domain expertise, including Risk insights  end-to-end life cycle such as origination/fulfilment and management. 
  • Extensive experience with AWS data services, including AWS EC2/EKS containers, S3, Redshift, Apache Kafka and other ETL related technologies (Ab initio). 
  • Proven Architect and design advanced data engineering frameworks on AWS and other AWS Data services technology or any other Cloud environments (Azure/GCP).
  • Develop strategic plans for scalable data solutions, overseeing their implementation and maintenance. 
  • Complex problem solving skills and strategic thinking, able to align technical solutions with the Group long-term strategy. 
  • Comprehensive understanding and adherence to data management ,controls and security principles, including encryption, identity access management. 
  • Clear and effective communication skills with experience in collaborating with stakeholders across multiple environments
