About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Backend Principal Engineer with deep expertise in Python and GoLang to design and develop scalable APIs, integrations, and data-driven systems. This role requires experience in cloud platforms and data analytics. The ideal candidate brings a proactive, go-getter mindset, taking initiative to identify challenges, propose innovative solutions, and deliver high-quality software.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the architecture and design of microservices and streaming systems.

  • Build, review, and deliver high-quality backend services (Python/GoLang) and data pipelines.

  • Define and enforce best practices across CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, security, and testing.

  • Drive production reliability through SLOs/SLIs, performance optimization, incident management, and postmortems.

  • Work closely with cloud services and platforms.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • 10 to 13 years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on experience in backend development using Python and Golang.

  • API and integration expertise, including REST, gRPC, and messaging patterns.

  • Data and caching experience with RDBMS/SQL (Postgres/MySQL), NoSQL, and caching solutions such as Redis.

  • Big data processing and orchestration experience with Spark, Flink, Airflow, and dbt.

  • Data warehousing and data lake technologies, including Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift, along with ETL/ELT patterns.

  • Streaming and data pipeline experience using Kafka and event-driven architectures.

  • Cloud experience across AWS, GCP, or Azure, including architectural patterns, IAM, and networking.

  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud services such as compute, storage, and networking.

  • Containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

  • Infrastructure as Code experience with Pulumi or Terraform, including provisioning and state management.

  • CI/CD and release management using GitHub Actions or Jenkins, including canary and blue-green deployments.

  • Strong focus on testing and quality through unit, integration, and contract testing, as well as test automation.

  • Proven experience in performance optimization and scalability, including profiling, load testing, and capacity planning.

Bonus Points if You Have  

  • B.Tech, Master’s in Computer Science, or a related domain.

  • Strong frontend fundamentals, including React, Angular, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS.

  • Cloud-native experience with serverless architectures, service mesh, and GitOps/ArgoCD.

  • Exposure to SRE practices, including incident response, runbook creation, and automation.
