About the Role:
As a VP, you will be responsible for building and profitably growing a diversified book of Accident & Health (A&H) business across the South Region. This includes oversight of Group Personal Accident products such as Corporate and Business Travel Accident, as well as a broad range of non-corporate Group Accident segments including K–12 Student Insurance, Amateur & Youth Sports, Volunteer, Day Care, Camp, and other participant accident programs.
This role carries direct revenue and profitability accountability and serves as the underwriting program lead for new A&H distribution initiatives within the region. In addition, the position will support regional product rollovers and contribute to product development initiatives aligned with the broader A&H strategy.
You will actively cultivate, manage, and expand relationships with retail brokers and agents to drive sustainable new business growth. The role also includes supporting underwriting referrals and maintaining strong collaboration with Managing General Underwriting (MGU) partners.

This is a hybrid position based in Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Warren, NJ, Houston, or Philadelphia.
Core Responsibilities:
Build and manage a profitable book of A&H business across the South Region
Maintain direct accountability for pricing, terms, conditions, and risk selection
Achieve defined premium, growth, and profitability targets
Lead underwriting execution for new product rollovers within the region.
Market Leadership
Serve as a primary market-facing underwriter for retail brokers and agents.
Develop and deepen broker relationships to drive new production.
Partner with A&H National Distribution to execute growth initiatives.
Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Demonstrate strong technical expertise in rating and structuring Group Accident risks.
Collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, Legal, Product Development, and Compliance teams.
Ensure adherence to regulatory and risk management standards.
Maintain underwriting discipline and contract certainty.
Leadership & Development
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior underwriters.
Act as a visible market representative for Everest in the Southern region.
Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset while operating within established underwriting frameworks.
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years production underwriting experience.
Proven track record of writing and managing Group (Corporate and Participant Accident). Working knowledge of Individual Personal Accident & Supplemental Health products a plus.
Strong technical/rating acumen in Accident insurance product space.
Strong commercial skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities, organize work and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral
Customer and sales focused with a good understanding of the local and/or regional A&H market.
Possess Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point skills.
Willingness to travel – 10% - 25%, or as otherwise needed.
Tenacious, motivated, and proactive.
The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
