Security Operation Specialist JD

Position Details

Responsible for the successful implementation, management, and on-going quality improvements of security operations for Lumentum DG(CL). This entails pro-actively seeking quality improvements to site security operations; management of contract security personnel; effective implementation of site security programs to reduce asset loss and/or risk of loss; write and update post order and site specific procedures; provide operational expense budget.

The position management responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Site Contract Security Personnel

  • Verify security vendor:
    • recruits and retain high quality personnel.
    • provides leadership and motivation to their security staff.
    • develop training requirements to meet growing, changing needs.
    • Train and develop their staff.
    • Maintain accurate and complete training record for each contract security personnel.
    • Monitor and document performance, including rewards/recognition and discipline.
    • Remove barrier hindering performance.
    • Continuous operational reviews for effective and efficient cost management.
    • Supervise and Manage personnel to ensure operations are consistent with contracted requirements and Standards Operation Procedure (SOP).
  • Check on attributes of Security personal (Smart attire, neat hair, punctuality).
  • Determine and coordinate special coverage needs.
  • Provide security systems training to appropriate personnel as needed/required.

Site Operations

  • Involve working on various security-led projects providing support to site departments by mitigating their security risks with innovation, efficiency, and effective security designs.
  • Develop a documented security management system per Lumentum Security Policies and customer audit requirements.
  • Write and update Post Orders and site-specific procedures based on Policies and Procedures set forth by Lumentum Security.
  • Identify and propose new processes, methodologies, and systems to improve security service delivery to the site.
  • Develop and implement metrics systems and processes for performance measurements, proactive assessments, compliance reviews, and audit response.
  • Manage budget for Security operations include support staff, in-direct and direct purchases of equipment, and expenditures. Responsible to ensure all budgetary expenses are legitimate, frugal, and done in accordance with company’s standards.
  • Security systems regular and abnormal maintenance. Review Security Operations Center logs including daily activity reports, radio communications, paging communication, and guard tour (rounds) reports.
  • Report incidents to appropriate personnel through escalation process.
  • Assist with preliminary incident investigation. Monitoring of CCTV and reviewing of CCTV footages for investigations of cases of incidents
  • Assist site with all aspects of emergencies: medical, fire, man-made and/or natural disasters.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of fire drills and other emergency planning drills as directed by the designated site EHS and Lumentum Safety representative.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation

Job Qualification

  • Education & experience – Bachelor degree and above, at least 3-5 year of physical security experience.
  • Familiar with security schemes’ requirements and audits.
  • Administrative skills, record keeping, planning, scheduling, writing reports/procedures, auditing, and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, customer service mind-set, and people relationship.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Work independently, demonstrate the leadership, has ability to make decisions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of computer operation or ability to learn basic functions and applications, proficient in MS Office applications.
