Reporting to the Manager SCM Data, the SCM Advisor - Master Data is responsible for providing Suncor material master, contingent worker, supplier, and service master data governance stemming from changes to process or tools and/or data quality challenges impacting critical processes across the company.Minimum Requirements:
Five years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
Understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality improvement.
Strong interpersonal and change management skills with people first approach
Ability to exercise sound judgment
Strong time management, project management, and prioritization skills
Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing requirements and ambiguity; demonstrated curiosity and ability to learn
Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, Informatica MDM, ServiceNow and working knowledge with MS Office, PowerPoint, Ariba, Lenel, and Fieldglass expertise considered an asset.
Understanding of relevant standards, business rules and quality criteria for material, service, contingent worker, and business partner master data
Responsibilities:
Execution of material master data governance through the create, maintain, retire lifecycle for Suncor requiring coordination and collaboration with hundreds of internal Suncor groups at various levels and geographic locations in the organization
Govern material master data integrity by ensuring compliance with standards, processes, guidelines, and procedures
Subject Matter Expert - Work requires the application of well-developed technical knowledge in independently planning, conducting, change managing, and coordinating complex assignments
Coaching other staff/training/leadership: Must serve as a technical resource for other company staff and be able to translate technical information for non-technical audiences and indirectly grow competence of others on the team
Test impact of technology changes on data and tools such as MDM Informatica, SAP S/4, Fieldglass, Ariba, Power BI dashboards, ServiceNow and other technology supporting data management
Make data change approval/rejections and provide initiative data consult services that consider integrated impacts to EHS, Finance, Maintenance and Reliability, Inventory Planning, Quality Management, IT, and Supply Chain to ensure delivery and payment on time
Identify, escalate, and resolve data quality and process integration issues
Produce and maintain process documents and master data stewardship
Ensure teamwork between Data Stewards when activities span multiple data domains
Deliver within service levels of the Enterprise Master Data team
Liaison with IT and technology team staff to resolve complex issues
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work.
