Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical Engineering

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2025

What will you do?

Manufacturing activities has been largely automated and digitalised. With a more robust control, there is a need to identify process improvement opportunities and ensure robustness of operations in the production unit. Through this internship, our intern will be exposed to the execution of detailed study of process data, plant operating condition and human interventions to improve robustness and yield performance.

You will also support the site exit decommissioning works, which is a rare opportunity to be immersed in the activities required for site closure. You will get to work on validation, data disposition and documentation archival.

What will you learn?

  • Understanding manufacturing plant routine operations

  • Methodologies in identifying improvement opportunities. Develop and execute improvement plans in a GMP environment

  • Attain understanding of cGMP and EHS requirements in pharmaceutical and chemical industries and other technical aspects in this field

  • Optimization of production operations

  • Plant decontamination and decommissioning works

  • A lively interest in API manufacturing process and the biopharma industry

  • Resourceful and takes initiative to complete tasks

  • Strong problem-solving skills driven by curiosity

  • Able to gather data sets and analyse them for insights

  • Excellent communications skills to coordinate and work with various stakeholders across departments
