Boys Town is seeking an Annual Giving Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and leading direct mail campaigns for fundraising purposes. Fundraising Initiatives: Plan, implement, and manage various fundraising strategies and programs as well as identify, cultivate and collaborate on direct mail packages. You will also work with external vendors to support fundraising goals, assist with creation of internal and external materials, proposals, and reports while developing and maintaining relationships with these vendors. Daily tasks will include vendor correspondence and meetings, proofing and approval of components and artwork, verifying pricing and scheduling, collaborating on design ideas, analyzing campaign data, and coordinating postage payments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Coordinates copy, creative, project, and production processes for Annual Giving renewal and acquisition appeal activities targeting Annual Giving donors.

  • Coordinates projects from inception to completion including maintaining critical production schedules, deadlines, and layout guidelines for appeal materials; ensures project timelines are met and within budget.

  • Collects and maintains cost information and documentation based on donor segmentation for direct mail campaigns.

  • Reviews and compiles project information; provides reports reviewing and outlining program objectives, activities, and outcomes.

  • Collaborates in development and implementation of the overall mail strategies and plans for each year to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of mail operations, business, and administrative activities.

  • Coordinates mail piece design for compatibility with production and specifications.

  • Reviews and evaluates outside service and product providers, serves as a liaison with outside service suppliers, and assists in bids, proposals, and purchases of materials and resources for renewal and acquisition mailings establishing a list of vendors with best business practices.

  • Coordinates contract negotiations for art work needed for direct mail campaigns.

  • Coordinates copywriting, editing, and proofreading functions to check appeal materials for accuracy, clarity and consistency; ensures proper use of trademarks and logos in appeals.

  • Designs and coordinates special projects as needed, such as Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) for direct mail activities.

  • Acts as point of contact to coordinate services or provide information for internal departments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, detailed oriented, and problem solving skills.

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization and with external contacts in an articulate, professional manner.

  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required.

  • Available to travel required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience preferred.

  • Experience in coordination of a production process or project coordination preferred.
