Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Medical Affairs Director who is passionate about HIV Treatment and Prevention. The candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in prior roles. They will play a critical and exciting role in helping the US Medical Affairs organization support current HIV treatment therapies and launch future HIV treatment pipeline products. The Senior Director will report to the US HIV Treatment Strategy Lead and will work directly with the US and Global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Medical Leadership & Brand Expertise
Acts as a scientific expert medical liaison to foster alignment and collaboration between US Medical Affairs, Global Medical Affairs, and US/Global Commercial teams.
Serve as the medical and scientific expert for the HIV portfolio, supporting the commercial strategy and marketing teams.
Provide strategic medical input into brand planning, lifecycle management, and commercialization efforts.
Represent Medical Affairs in commercialization team meetings, ensuring alignment of medical and commercial strategies.
Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration
Communicate medical initiatives, strategies, data timelines, and publication plans to commercial stakeholders.
Bring back insights and updates from cross-functional meetings (e.g., marketing, regulatory, clinical, public affairs) to inform medical strategy.
Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, Clinical, Public/Government Affairs, and other partner functions to lead or support cross-functional projects.
Commercial Strategy & Advisory Support
Provide medical support for US commercial activities including but not limited to Scientific advisory boards (planning, content review, and presentation).
Promotional Review Committee (PRC) concept discussions and material reviews.
Ensure medical narrative alignment and scientific accuracy in commercial materials and campaigns
Training & Educational Support
Review and contribute to commercial training materials for sales and clinical liaison teams.
Present at commercial training sessions, including midyear and national meetings.
Support the development and delivery of training workshops and strategic/tactical planning sessions.
Portfolio & Launch Planning
Support the US Strategy Lead in portfolio management and launch planning activities.
Align medical initiatives and POA tactical planning with the local strategic cross-functional plan.
Competitive Intelligence & Insights
Review and synthesize medical insights and competitive intelligence to inform commercial and medical strategies.
Provide recommendations for resource allocation and MSL asset optimization based on evolving landscape dynamics.
Conference Planning
Support US team conference activities to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and cross-functional collaboration.
Act as the HIV Treatment Team liaison for conference planning, ensuring alignment with commercial and other key events.
Excellent verbal, written, visual communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in vendor contracting and preparing budgets, misc. Excel spreadsheets, and delivering PowerPoint presentations
Experience in the provision of, medical information, slide development, medical writing, and project and conference management required
Proven strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
Ability to travel as required which may include occasional weekend travel, is required
Ability to flex and adapt as necessary in response to ongoing growth and change within the organization
MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced health care degree with 8+ years of experience; in industry preferred.
Relevant clinical experience in HIV is required
Experienced with patient-centric care desired
Committed to continuing education to maintain a knowledge base
