Job Summary

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer I (RDCS-I) is part of the patient care team and is entrusted with the care of patients undergoing cardiac sonographer studies on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis.

Pay Range

Minimum $42.69 Midpoint $56.57 Maximum $70.43

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

•  Required: Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required.

•  Preferred: One year of adult Echocardiography experience.

Education

• Required: Graduate recognized program for echocardiography required.

Specialized Skills

• Required: Ability to communicate professionally, understand patient family centered care expectations and receive professional instruction to promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission. Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.

• Preferred: Bilingual

Licensure

• Required: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS); must obtain credentialing in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS -PE) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonography (RCCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) upon hire or must obtain within one (1) year of hire.

• Preferred: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential by CCI.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
