Position Summary:
The Lead Data Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and analytics platforms, while mentoring a small team of engineers. This role requires strong technical expertise in Python, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI, along with a growing foundation in AI/ML concepts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Pipelines

  • Develop and maintain robust data solutions using Python and SQL

  • Lead the development of data models and dashboards in Power BI

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers

  • Contribute to the integration of AI/ML solutions into existing data workflows

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all platforms

  • Work cross-functionally with IT, operations, and business teams to drive data initiatives

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience with Python for data engineering

  • 4+ years of experience with SQL and relational databases

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Pipelines

  • 3+ years working with Power BI, including DAX and data visualization best practices

  • 1+ year of exposure to AI/ML concepts or projects

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring a data engineering team

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

  • Experience in the veterinary, healthcare, or multi-site industries is a plus
