The H62/H63 Neurological Step-down Nursing Unit provides treatment for neurological medical and surgical patients. Our nursing caregiver staff is comprised of highly trained specialists in advanced neurological assessment techniques. The Neurological Step-down Unit is certified as part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center within Cleveland Clinic’s nationally ranked Neurological Institute.
As a Registered Nurse in our Neurology Step-down Unit, you will become familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, pain modalities, and comprehensive nutritional support. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
• Providing direct nursing care.
• Monitoring, recording, and communicating patients’ conditions as appropriate.
• Preparing patient care plans.
• Administering prescribed medications.
The future caregiver is someone who:
• Communicates effectively with patients and team members.
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Can critically think and problem solve for patients’ best interests.
• Can provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients.
