The Opportunity:

The Adult Day Program Aide works in a variety of areas including, but not limited to personal care, health maintenance, recreation planning and implementation, charting and one-on-one resident interventions.

What Is In It For You:

• Provides “life enrichment” activities for residents to meet their social, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Participates in the developments of the Adult Day Support Programs/ Care programs by sharing observations, information and knowledge of needs and strengths of the residents with other members of the team.
• Assists residents to and from the Dining room for meals, which may include assisting the resident to walk without or with mechanical aids.
• Provides routine treatments and care procedures to residents, under the direction of the Staff Nurse.
• Records resident program outcomes on appropriate forms & flow sheets.
• Performs all duties in a manner in which resident safety is the focus.

What You Will Need:

• One year of experience in a long term care center or related environment is preferred.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.
• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
