Job Description

  • Managing both direct and indirect tax compliance matters of AirAsia Move Group for both Malaysian and overseas entities ensuring compliance with respective tax regulations.

  • Liaising with tax authorities, government agencies, tax consultants, and other external parties on all tax matters for all entities of the Group.

  • Managing tax audits for all entities of the Group, including responding to tax authorities and liaising with tax advisers.

  • Providing tax advisory and planning to manage tax risk for special exercises/projects.

  • Liaising with finance and business units to advise on the tax implications for new business structures / new products.

  • Reviewing legal contracts and ensuring tax terms are properly drafted to mitigate tax liabilities, highlight additional tax costs, work with legal team to update contract templates.

  • Monitoring/reviewing transfer pricing (“TP”) documentation and assisting business/operating units in the implementation of TP requirements on related company transactions.

  • Reporting to Capital A Group CFO on the tax status of AirAsia Move Group. Working together with Capital A Group Tax for Group level compliance, such as CbCR reporting and implementation of OECD Pillar 2, Global Minimum Tax compliance.

  • Providing support to special projects within the Group and shared services center, such as handling tax due diligence, implementing of e-invoicing projects, and implementing of new tax compliances, such as TTx, and high-value goods tax.

  • Keeping abreast of tax development and providing tax updates to the relevant stakeholders.

  • Providing guidance, training tax team and operation team of shared services center.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / ICAEW) or equivalent.

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant working experience with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.

  • Experience in a large accounting or / and commercial in-house tax department

  • Experience in regional tax (especially ASEAN) is an added advantage

  • Proactive attitude, agile, good in problem solving and able to work in fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
