The Vision & Cognitive Neuroscience Lab directed by Dr. Julie Golomb in the Department of Psychology, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Research Technician to join our team.
The Research Technician assists in the coordination and conduct of research in the Vision & Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory by conducting research studies and collecting behavioral, eye-tracking, neuroimaging, and online data; recruits and schedules participants for research studies; assists with the implementation of research studies and established experimental protocols, including programming and maintaining experimental tasks using laboratory software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Java, and/or JavaScript); processes, scores, and assists with the analysis of behavioral, neuroimaging, computational, and online data using established methods; assists with preparing figures, summaries, and other research materials for publications, presentations, and grant submissions; maintains laboratory supplies and equipment; provides day-to-day guidance to undergraduate research assistants; coordinates in-person and remote laboratory meetings.
Position available for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Minimum Education Required
High School Diploma or GED
Additional Education Desired
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
1 year of relevant experience required, particularly in a cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, or related research lab environment; strong technical and computer skills, including experience with one or more programming languages (preferably Matlab, Python, and/or Java, JavaScript); strong organizational and communication skills.
The pay range for this job profile is $15.86- $20.74. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
