Role: Backup and Recovery
Role Description: Must have 10 years of hands-on experience in Veritas NetBackup, Rubrik Backup to take care of technical activities. Should have strong knowledge with architecture of Backup solutions. Should have hands-on experience in configuring File system, Exchange, NDMP, SQL, AS400, DB2 and Oracle Database Backups for Windows and Unix servers
Candidate should be capable of providing L3 operations on Backup and Recovery – NetBackup, Avamar, and Rubrik.
As a Level 3 resource, you will act as the final escalation point for complex issues, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in infrastructure reliability and data protection.

Good to Have Skills: Storage – EMC Isilon, Powermax, VMAX
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Should have sound experience in providing L3 support for Backup Management and support on Backup tools – NetBackup, Rubrik and Avamar
• Design and implement Backup systems including installation, configuration, software upgrades, and backup process
• Participating in audits for successful backups and failure backups
• Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery plans and failover scenarios.
• Ensure backups align with RPO and RTO requirements.
• Participate in DR testing and business continuity exercises.
• Plan and implement best practices for Backup solutions.
• Create and update documentation for storage procedures.
• Create scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate backup monitoring, reporting, and alerting.
• Develop automated job cleanup, log rotation, and notification processes.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of backup configurations, schedules, restore procedures, and change records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and data retention requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, SOX).
• Generate backup reports and audit logs for review by leadership and auditors.
• Work closely with storage, cloud, application, and security teams to align backup strategies.
• Support project teams with data protection planning for new deployments.
• Train and mentor junior engineers on backup technologies and processes.
Technical Experience:
• 7 - 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup and recovery environments.
• Expert in one or more of the following platforms: Veritas NetBackup, Rubrik, Avamar
• Strong experience with - VMware, Hyper-V backup configurations, Windows and Linux server backup and restores, Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.) and application-aware backup, Cloud backup experience on -AWS (e.g., S3, Glacier, Backup), Azure (e.g., Recovery Services Vault, Blob Storage)
• Familiar with SAN/NAS storage and snapshot replication.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Disaster Recovery & High Availability
• Compliance, Retention & Security
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Grafana, Nagios)
• Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
