Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) has a position available for The Effectors Center. This work will include duties as an Electronic/Flight Test Engineer located at Edwards AFB, CA. This Flight Test Engineer position will be primarily involved with the AMRAAM® missile that is a multi-platform, multi-service weapon, reporting to the IVC Field/Test Support Section Lead and Department Manager. You must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.  The work is performed under general direction, and you must be able to independently determine and develop solutions. This is a demanding, hands-on, flight-line support position. You may be required to work non-standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions.

 What You Will Do

  • Perform integration, verification, and testing in the lab or the field to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements.
  • Perform data collection activities, including review and analysis of data elements, and provide quick look reports of results.
  • Be an integral part of multi-disciplinary teams in fault isolation, fault analysis, and corrective action investigations across mechanical and electrical subsystems, system-level performance, and system-of-system integration, including all-up round (AUR) configurations, weapon-to-carriage interfaces, and aircraft platform integration.
  • This is a demanding, hands-on, lab and direct flight test support position. There are some non-standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions.
  • Support Flight Line testing outside around operational aircraft.
  • Domestic Travel required, which is typically for a one-week duration. 10% travel.
  • Obtain and maintain additional program access as required

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, Math or other related engineering disciplines.   A minimum of eight (8) years of technical/engineering experience.

  • Experience with Radar Systems
  • Experience using Radar, ComNav and Radar related equipment
  • Experience with Windows based PCs, software and peripheral hardware
  • Experience troubleshooting varied electronic equipment
  • Experience with Communications Security
  • Must be able to travel to domestic and possibly foreign sites
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with frequent and direct interaction with Government customers and peers
  • Engineering leadership experience with a team and/or project
  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Experience interpreting requirements and translating knowledge points into test plans and procedures
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 interfaces
  • Experienced in Failure Review, Failure Investigation and Root Cause and Correction Action Boards.
  • Experience with COMSEC
  • Experience with Telemetry software/hardware

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
