Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE

The Data Entry Clerk assists with the precise input of various forms of data using EM Edge.  The Data Entry Clerk is responsible for entering customer and account data from source documents, reviewing data for deficiencies or error, making corrections, meeting specified deadlines and verifying the accuracy of work completed. 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs accurate and timely data entry and documentation using MS Office and EM Edge.

  • Updates and maintains accurate data within MS Office and EM Edge.

  • Performs various data collection and file maintenance tasks for efficient data retrieval.

  • Identifies and resolves data discrepancies and escalates issues to leadership.

  • Stays abreast of office and company policies, procedures, and practices; participates in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.

  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with other members of the organization across departments, divisions, and locations.

  • Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to EM and its endeavors.

  • Upholds the values of Engle Martin and Our Foundation.

  • Adheres to all applicable State Insurance Regulation requirements and other applicable laws, regulations, and standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • At least six months of experience in an administrative or clerical role preferred

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrates thorough skill set in, or demonstrates ability to quickly master, a variety of office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint)

  • Proficiency in data entry with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify mistakes for escalation

  • Excellent and precise keyboarding skills

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment

  • Time management and strong organization skills to manage large volumes of data effectively

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Trustworthiness, integrity, and personal accountability and adherence to standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is conducted primarily in an indoor office environment with protection from weather conditions and with exposure to noise typical of an office or administrative setting.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.; standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, fingering (keyboarding) and repetitive hand motion, grasping, talking, and hearing at normal speaking levels. Work requires visual acuity to read and prepare data and figures, type words and numbers, view information on a computer terminal, read, operate office machines, and determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work.
