Job Description:

Nursing Aide

To provide patients and families care as part of the health care team in accordance with the mission, vision, and policies and procedures of Bay Area Hospital. Works under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) while maintaining patient safety.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
• Ability to recognize and report abnormal occurrences
• Able to appropriately use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Knows the fire plan and escape routes for patient and self
• Demonstrates competence by ongoing completion of any or all of the following:
• Proficiency testing
• Skill demonstration
• Practice of core standards for service excellence
• Provides patient care and performs tasks using job skills, growth, and development knowledge
• Effective communication skills both verbally and written

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
• Graduate of hospital provided CNA program
• Obtain CNA certification within 90 days
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
