Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of Italy, the successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with banks, FAs and other key financial intermediaries in Italy.  This is an office-based role but with expectations of significant external client engagement.

This is an opportunity for an ambitious, seasoned professional to leave their mark on PIMCO’s growth journey. Italy Wealth has been identified as a key strategic growth area and the firm is ready to invest accordingly.

The successful candidate will play an important role in growing PIMCO’s asset base in the Italian wholesale channel, bringing deep knowledge of Financial Advisors, banks, and other key financial intermediaries. It will be the role holder’s responsibility to drive, develop, and further cultivate relationships with these companies and individuals in conjunction with the Italian GWM team

Job Responsibilities

The primary objectives of this role include:

  • Business Development: Drive the growth of PIMCO's business, with a particular emphasis on PIMCO funds, alternative products, and separately managed accounts within the Italian distribution channels. This includes managing existing accounts and developing new distribution channels.

  • Relationship Management: Primarily focus on financial advisory networks, while also engaging with private banks and SGRs.

  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of relationships at both HQ level and among local managers

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain consistent and high-quality relationships, ensuring continuity and delivering valuable content that reflects PIMCO's thought leadership.

  • Expansion of Relationships: Broaden the network of relationships by identifying and engaging all key decision-makers, including financial advisors across the Italian regions

  • Field Coverage: Actively participate in roadshows and initiatives to ensure adequate territorial coverage.

  • Co-Marketing Manage the assigned co-marketing budget diligently and work closely with marketing teams to enhance the visibility and service level of the PIMCO brand.

  • Effective Communication: Strong public speaking skills are essential for this role. Ability to maximise contact points, enhance PIMCO's brand presence, and respond promptly to requests from distribution networks.

  • Product Strategy Contribution: Engage actively in discussions to help shape PIMCO's product strategy in Italy and promote innovation within the service model.

  • Account Servicing: Ensure timely and effective servicing of S-A accounts by collaborating with all relevant internal functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a proven strong track record in wealth management sales in Italy, have excellent relationship management and presentation skill

  • A deep knowledge of the Italian market and significant experience in a similar role is essential (a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience is thought appropriate)

  • Strong work ethic – enjoys working at pace, self-motivated, happy to be given a high level of autonomy, be accountable for actions and able to operate in a team environment.

  • CFA / MBA qualification desirable, IMC / undergraduate degree minimum requirement
