This team will pave the way for Brookfield to enter and grow into new and different asset classes. The team works very closely with Strategic Partners to help launch funds and raise capital for their business while leveraging the broader Brookfield GCG infrastructure across all functional areas. Members of the team will have to understand different strategies, have deep knowledge about fundraising, be adept at building relationships, and have both a very strategic and hands-on approach.

While each Strategic Partner will be unique and therefore have different needs, the role will include many of the tasks below, in a very collaborative way with the rest of GCG.

This role is for who is a strategic thinker and can simultaneously act with agility and problem solve constantly in order to support fundraising campaigns for our Strategic Partners. It requires being able to seamlessly communicate between the Strategic Partner and Brookfield’s CRMs and the broader Global Client Group, to drive the fundraising process for our Strategic Partners from inception through to closing. The ideal candidate will be someone who has knowledge of the fundraising process, and can learn quickly and build working knowledge in new sectors/strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with our Strategic Partner’s investment, operations, IR and/or senior management teams to produce key marketing messages that translate through verbal and written communications, and resonate with prospective investors

  • Support building fundraising plans

  • Helping research target prospects to prepare the investment team and making sure they are well organized for fundraising

  • Coordinating activities throughout the fundraise process with all relevant stakeholders. Specifically, coordinating with the rest of GCG to execute effectively on fundraising plans

  • Maintaining market intelligence, including understanding the competitive landscape for the Partner’s fund offerings

  • Support in building general and fund-specific marketing materials, such as offering memorandums, investor presentations, fact sheets, post-fundraise material, and other documents related to Strategic Partner fundraises

  • Crafting and coordinating responses to investor information requests, such as RFPs and due diligence questionnaires

  • Coordination of road shows, conferences and investor meetings

  • Working closely with other functional teams including in-house legal, compliance, operations and finance as appropriate to advance fundraising objectives

The candidate will have proven ability to manage a capital raising process. He or she will have the presence to interact credibly with senior executive management. Knowledge of Private Equity or peripheral Private Equity strategies is highly desirable, ideally in the North American market.

They will be experienced in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing, working efficiently with multiple stakeholder groups, and working under tight timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ~10 years of experience in the asset management industry with private equity or other asset classes

  • Ability to share information and communicate effectively with team members

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including preparation of compelling marketing material and presentations

  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
