Job Description

Job Summary:

The in Region Technical Program Lead/Bose TPL is a key technical contributor and the main local technical point of contact to ensure project success by integrating design and NPI expertise, intimate project knowledge, and local information.

Skills/Experience Required:

First and foremost, this Bose TPL role requires design engineering experience and is for someone highly respected among the technical community for both their breath of knowledge across functions as well as their ability to dive deep within their functional domain. This role requires a candidate with strong skills and experience in systems engineering, manufacturing process, and critical thinking.  The ability to synthesize information and collaborate with other specialized functions is critical as is a sense of curiosity.  It is someone with excellent communication skills who is able to communicate effectively to both native English and Chinese speakers.  The ideal candidate would also have experience in a similar role from an external high volume consumer electronics company to bring fresh ideas based on knowledge of what has worked and not worked elsewhere.  Finally, the candidate should have excellent failure analysis skills and be able to leverage tools such as DOE’s, 8D’s etc.

Jobs to be Done:

The primary responsibility of the Bose TPL will be to leverage their design experience, project knowledge, and influential role to ensure all manufacturing builds deliver on the Bose intent and that manufacturing and validation failures are root caused and corrected in the next design iteration.  To maximize speed and accuracy, the Bose TPL will leverage local resources with firsthand knowledge wherever possible both within and outside of Bose (at CM's, Vendors, etc.).  Where this is not possible or most efficient, the Bose TPL will leverage Framingham resources, however under all circumstances the Bose TPL will keep the rest of the design team and leads updated on status and ensure that decisions being made are harmonious with the design/customer intent.

In order to gain and maintain the required background knowledge of the program(s), the Bose TPL will join the project during the architectural phase and be a trusted integral member of the project team(s).  They will contribute to both design and manufacturing process development by participating in design reviews and all things related to process (DFMA, mfg test etc).  They will remain a key contributor to team meetings throughout the project, but especially leading up to and after builds.

Depending on the amount and type of localized design on the specific projects, they may have additional design and technical oversight responsibilities.

Based on the time required to participate this deeply on a project, it is not envisioned that the Bose TPL would be on more than 1 or 2 programs at a time though they will likely provide isolated support to other programs from time to time based on their senior status and highly sought-after design skills.  This role requires frequent travel during manufacturing builds that may take place in China, Thailand, Vietnam, and other locations.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every candidate feels supported and empowered in the interviewing process. Diversity and inclusion are integral to our success, and we believe that providing reasonable accommodation is not only a legal obligation but also a fundamental aspect of our commitment to being an employer of choice. We recognize that individuals may have different needs and requirements based on their abilities, and we provide reasonable accommodations to ensure ideal conditions are met during the application process.

If you believe you need a reasonable accommodation, please send a note to [email protected]
