Are you excited about coding solutions, building features, and driving efficiency while working with an exceptional team? At ezCater we rely on our dynamic and skilled team of engineers to provide solutions that unlock potential and drive innovation in our rapidly evolving environment.

ezCater values technology as a differentiator and a key component of our success. It powers everything we do. We push ourselves every day to improve the codebase, improve performance, and deliver an amazing customer experience. Our team values innovation, pragmatism, and transparency. Technology is the fulcrum that allows ezCater to provide a compelling and engaging experience for our customers.

The ezCater growth teams focus on solving complex problems that help to identify, acquire, and retain the customers that power the demand side of ezCater’s marketplace. You’ll actively partner cross-functionally with marketing, data, and analytics teams, in addition to partner engineering squads, to build the user experiences that will drive customer growth and adoption.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop with skills across the full stack - React (with Typescript & Next.js), Ruby (in Rails), and CSS (with Tailwind), to build new features and services as we expand the foundation of our e-commerce systems
  • Identify, qualify, and quantify opportunities for acquisition, conversion, and retention by leveraging opportunities in code and technology, while partnering with our product, design, marketing, and analytics teams
  • Measure and improve performance (we believe speed is a feature and core skill)
  • Use data to inform decisions and measure the impact of new features
  • Build a solid foundation to support our catering product portfolio
  • Embrace exciting scale challenges.

What You Have:

  • 5+ years of professional web development experience, ideally using React on the front end and/or Ruby on Rails on the backend
  • A tenacious motivation around the outcome, where code is the means to the end. Well-factored, well-tested, and functional code, while important, are artifacts. The work’s impact is the final product.
  • Experience with collaborating on the surfacing, the definition, and the implementation, of experiments - either A/B or Pre/Post tests.
  • Understanding of user behavior and experience with user-centric design
  • Solid SQL / relational database experience (Postgres is what we use, but not required)
  • A strong appetite for learning, relentless curiosity, and an ability to leverage what you learn to make our products better
  • A thirst for personal and professional growth
  • A friendly, flexible, and pragmatic disposition

The national cash compensation range for this role is $141,000 - $174,000 per year*

*Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).

Please have fun with the cover letter section of our application! It does not need to follow “traditional” cover letter guidelines - we would love for you to write 150-500 words explaining why you are interested in ezCater and the role, and highlighting anything else you think we should know!

ezCater does not sponsor applicants for work visas or legal permanent residence.

What you’ll get from us:

You’ll get a terrifically compelling opportunity, in an environment of radical transparency, and collaborative colleagues at every level of our organization. You’ll also get sane working hours and great flexibility around work/life balance.

Have people in your life – of any age – who always, often, or sometimes need your help? We make room for that. Have a bad thing or a good thing happen to you? We make room for that, too.

Oh, and you’ll get all this: Market salary, stock options that you’ll help make worth a lot, the usual holidays, all-you-can-eat vacation, 401K with ezCater match, health/dental/FSA, long-term disability insurance, remote-hybrid work from our awesome Boston or Denver offices OR your home OR a mixture of both home and office (you choose!), a tremendous amount of responsibility and autonomy, wicked awesome co-workers, cupcakes (and many more goodies) when you’re in one of our offices, and knowing that you helped get this rocket ship to the moon.

ezCater is an equal opportunity employer. We embrace humans of every background, appearance, race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, and disability status. At the same time, we do not employ jerks, even brilliant ones.
