As a Junior Business Controller, you will support the Controlling team and the Head of Business Control in overseeing the business and financial operations of ALBI. You will assist in financial analysis, participate in planning processes, and help provide relevant support to management in decision-making.


 

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting: Assist in analyzing results for the monthly P&L and performing variance analysis. You will support the month-end close process to help guarantee the accuracy of the P&L from Sales to OIR, and assist in preparing timely, ad-hoc reporting of business performance.

  • Budget and Rolling Forecast Process: As part of the business control team, you will support the development of short-term (next month) and mid-term (next year) forecasts. You will also assist in the yearly Target setting and Quarterly Forecast processes.

  • Investment & Asset Management: Support the monitoring of the investment process for projects, from initial request to completion, verifying that expenses are correctly booked. You will also assist the team in managing asset registers, assets under construction, and tracking Capex expenditures for AL Group reporting.

  • Advising Departments: Help translate financial analysis into clear messages to assist the team in acting as a business partner for operations, commercial, and general management.

  • Continuous Improvement: Challenge the status-quo and propose process improvements within the financial controlling and planning processes. You will also have the opportunity to learn and support reporting on Group CO2 emissions, Energy Contributions, and taxonomy compliance.

Skills:

  • Knowledge specific to the job:

    • Master in Engineering or Finance.

    • Entry-level to 3 years of experience

    • Basic knowledge or strong interest in ERP, BI, and database systems.

    • Languages: English, French and Dutch are a plus.

    • Interest or background in energy-intensive industries is a plus.

  • Behavioral skills:

    • Rigorous and efficient.

    • Self-starter and autonomous.

    • Stress resistant to cope with deadlines.

    • Good communication skills to interact with operations and corporate teams.
