Job Description:
Location: Las Vegas, NV

Job Summary:
The Security Assistant Manager will assist the Security Manager in training Security staff on how to effectively provide security and protection for guests, team members, and the property on assigned shifts in accordance with departmental standards. Provides guidance and leadership to all reporting security personnel at Meow Wolf Las Vegas. Promotes good working relations through courteous, helpful, and professional contact with employees, visitors, guests, and vendors/contractors. Must work seamlessly with GM, Operations Directors, Human Resource and across all departments to ensure delivery of the highest level of guest satisfaction. Reports directly to the Security Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Complete all daily reports, incident reports, supplemental reports, and other written, electronic documents pertinent to the day-to-day activities of assigned tasks.
Monitors, enforces, and reports violations of company rules, company policies, and applicable Local/ State/ Federal laws.
Monitor and control guests entering and exiting the venue.
Interact with guests and employees in a professional manner and engage with local law enforcement agencies as required.
Respond to reports of guest or employee injury or illness and provide First Aid, CPR, and use AED as needed.
Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
Direct evacuations during emergencies and assist guests as needed.
Escort security vendors and/or employees with money pick up and drop offs.
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the venue. Cleaning assignments may be made for designated areas of responsibility before, during, and after operational hours.
Exhibit a high degree of motivation toward providing guest satisfaction by displaying a friendly approach to service guests.
Must be able to deal with many guests and/or employees each day in a positive and friendly manner.
Must be flexible to work at different positions and must be knowledgeable of all workstation requirements and functions.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience in security in an exhibit, attraction, theme parks, museum, recreation facility, or other public space.
Working knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Experience writing Accident/Incident Reports
Proficiency in English, verbal, and writing.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
Customer service driven with outstanding communication and active listening skills.
Observant and situationally aware.
Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand other’s reactions and behaviors.
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
Must have previous computer experience and excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills to write incident reports.
Fluid to change, adaptable.
Solution-oriented and not stopped by “paper walls”.
High School Diploma or GED graduate.
Adult + Child + Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
Background in law enforcement or military is a plus.
Bilingual, especially but not limited to English and Spanish is preferred
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Schedule:
This is a full time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position does require supervisory responsibility.
