Job Summary

The Business Analyst & Project Manager position plays a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes, unearthing insights, and delivering strategic recommendations to optimize overall business performance. This role involves providing expert insights in information management and analysis, encompassing metric tracking, targeted report development, data entry, case analysis, and regular document/report generation.

As a Business Analyst & Project Manager you will be tasked with inspecting, cleansing, transforming, modeling, and analyzing data to extract valuable information for process enhancement. Your primary goal is to suggest informed conclusions and support departmental decision making. This role demands a robust analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in data modeling using Excel and other business intelligence tools/software.

This position will be full time, in our Cerritos, California headquarters office. It may be worked in a hybrid capacity, 3 days per week in-office to start, with Mondays always required in-office.

Essential Functions:

  • Drive data-driven decision-making processes, uncovering insights, and providing valuable recommendations to optimize business performance.
  • Lead and oversee projects, collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into actionable insights.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring that project objectives are met on time and within scope.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proficiently write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis, contributing to robust data-driven decision-making.
  • Document and communicate intricate business processes, data flows, and system requirements, ensuring a clear understanding across teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment between business needs and project objectives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project progress and success.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide recommendations based on project insights.
  • Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports to update stakeholders on project status, milestones, and potential risks to facilitate informed decision-making processes.
  • Present project updates and insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and tailor visualizations accordingly.
  • Act as a bridge between technical and business teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance project management and analytical capabilities.
  • Analyze issues/errors reported by customers and perform the first level of analysis before involving technical teams.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for clients, managing stakeholders and customer expectations while facilitating issue resolution.
  • Conduct workflow analysis and develop, review, and analyze business information requirements and models.
  • Identify and analyze new project initiatives, prepare operational reviews, strategic business cases, and assessing impact.
  • Assist in the re-engineering process for transitioning from existing to new service program models.
  • Conduct reviews and provide detailed analysis, advice, and interpretation of information such as operating budgets and program requests.
  • Review and analyze quality improvement and utilization data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Research financial planning, forecasting, and reporting methodologies to meet changing business needs.
  • Develop annual performance plans, collaborating with the Manager to set measurable goals and objectives.
  • Attend and participate in various meetings and committees, providing a business analysis perspective.
  • Utilize Jira, Confluence, and SmartSheets.
  • Perform all other assigned duties and tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, or a related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on data analysis and modeling, for a Healthcare organization.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing projects, from initiation to completion, for a healthcare organization.
  • Proven success in implementing new systems and processes within a technical environment.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.

  • Show proficiency in Excel, highlighting advanced skills in data manipulation and modeling.
  • Demonstrate strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing relational databases.
  • Exhibit analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business analysis, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Processes excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
