Job Description:
Sun Life High Net Worth (HNW) is on a transformative journey to become a scalable, nimble, and client-centric organization with a sustainable business model. The Student, Financial Analyst is a crucial to support Expense Management reporting for the HNW business unit, reporting to the Director, HNW Finance and Expense Management. The Student Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the development and streamlining of expense management reporting within the business and for supporting reporting from HNW with the wider Asia business. The successful candidate will also participate in a range of financial reporting initiatives across Sun Life High Net Worth by supporting financial reporting, expense studies and validation.

What will you do?
This role is multi-faceted, involving collaboration across various regions, including Ireland, Canada, Singapore, Bermuda, Hong Kong and the US. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple Sun Life High Net Worth teams and leaders across main functions, such as Transformation, Technology, Product Development, Operations, Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Risk and Compliance. This position requires a versatile and adaptable individual who can navigate the diverse needs and perspectives of stakeholders in different countries and functions to drive the organization's data and analytics objectives.
Develop and maintain reporting for budget owners on actual expense performance vs. plan and forecast
Maintain data related to the headcount reporting and maintain headcount allocation database for financial reporting
Support maintenance of system allocations of expenses
Develop and maintain internal controls related to expense reporting
Proactively identify areas of improvement related to Finance processes and drive
Contribute to and develop presentation ready materials for leadership discussion and insights
What do you need to succeed?
This opportunity is available to students with a August 2026 or later graduation date
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, mathematics, business or a related field
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy of information produced and reported
Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction
Ability to work independently and effectively to manage their time to consistently deliver on deadlines
Proficiency in using Excel to drive quality analysis in a controlled, safe and reliable manner. Hyperion experience is an asset.
Data analysis / visualization using Tableau or Power BI is an asset
Experience with SAP and/or other accounting platforms is an asset
Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Able to consistently meet deadlines
Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently
What will be good to have?
Knowledge of Insurance or Financial Services industry
Experience with finance reporting system, such as Hyperion
Experience working in an Agile environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
