Position Summary

Position supports the clinical support service in the ambulatory cancer building by providing customer service and performing administrative assistance for the Faculty Practice Plan.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer support for patients and their families, clients, faculty, and staff, in a friendly and helpful manner while providing a positive, professional, courteous, and empathetic understanding to all customers.
  • Exhibits high quality performance through accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment in a timely manner to protect the privacy and safety of our patients, visitors, faculty and staff.
  • Accepts and receives phones calls and electronic communication from the occupants of the building and log their request, including registering patients into medical record and laboratory information systems.
  • Verifies patient appointment information and directs patients and their caregivers to the appropriate area.
  • Places necessary orders to replace supplies needed in the common spaces within the building. 
  • Assists with monitoring and editing the physician and department directories. 
  • Troubleshoots errors and identify problems effectively to ensure safety within the building.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of necessary university and clinical policies and procedures. 
  • Notifies appropriate WashU/BJH department leaders of any issues that require immediate attention that affects patient experience or safety. 
  • Assists with obtaining required documentation requested by regulatory agencies and university compliance departments.  
  • Prioritizes workload effectively to ensure completion of duties within stated expectations.
  • Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, with staff members and co-workers on all pertinent information in a professional manner.
  • Assists with additional projects as needed.

    Salary Range

    $17.34 - $25.40 / Hourly

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
