Join our dynamic team as a Regional Account Manager, where you’ll oversee and coordinate all sales and marketing activities for key clients in the mining industry. What you will do:

  • Manage corporate relationships and oversee the business portfolio for large Regional Mining customers located in North America and Latin America regions with the goal of developing business and strengthening relationships.

  • Follow organizational policies and procedures while maintaining clear and direct communication within the organization to meet and exceed customer requirements.

  • Design efficient processes to keep customers informed about rates, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and any additional information they need, ensuring a seamless experience.

  • Lead/participate in Regional Key Account deals. Strategize with dealers, local Caterpillar team members including the Commercial Manager. Provide intel and insights, creative solutions.

  • Drive collaboration with regional Caterpillar teams, Strategic Account, Aftermarket, Technology, CAT Financial and other key functional areas to ensure alignment and holistic solution approach.

  • Define priorities with regional customers for their long-term goals aligning Customer and Caterpillar Visions to Grow the Relationship

  • Use and create Caterpillar solutions to be competitive.

  • Demonstrate clearly to the enterprise how a partnership is steering customers toward sustainable market share increase and profitability

  • Capability to find the right balance between strategically right (long-term view) vs. immediately profitable (short-term results).

  • Ability to scan the marketing environment, analyzing business markets and business buying behavior.

What Skills you will have:

Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience in the mining industry. Knowledge of the mining industry trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Familiarity with the Mining sector in North America and Latin America.

Customer Focus: Market-oriented, customer-centric and strong strategic planning skills. Experience working with multiple Dealers and customers.

Effective Communications: Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with complex issues and persuade others inside and outside the company, dealers, and customers to take specific actions.

Account Management: Knowledge of account management; ability to manage day-to-day activities, providing services and support to existing clients. Proven leader and decision-maker with a proactive approach, and ability to work with urgency and drive continuous improvement.

Relationship Management: Ability to manage relationships with internal and external partners. Ability to adjust to demands from customers and changes, as well as well-developed soft skills, resilience, and a willingness to take on new challenges to forge strong relationships with customers and the dealership network to take action in response to customer and dealer feedback (Voice of Customer and Voice of Dealer).

Negotiating: Negotiation skills, selling to customer needs, motivation for sales, Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Value Selling: Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

Top Candidates will also have:

Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.

Bachelor's degree or MBA.

Strong Commercial background with an understanding of machines’ applications.

Understanding of company policies & procedures related to marketing, distribution, engineering, and quality and a strong understanding of dealer operations.

Previous experience leveraging digital technologies to make informed business decisions or developing service offerings.

Experience with Procurement negotiation and purchasing process.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Tucson, AZ.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

This position may require 50 - 60 % travel.
