What you will be doing:
The Senior Revenue Accountant analyzes customer contracts to determine proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP and ASC 606. This position supports period‑end close activities, tackles ad‑hoc projects, mentors and reviews the work of staff revenue accountants, and collaborates with Billing and other internal stakeholders as necessary to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility #1– Review/process customer contracts for ASC 606 revenue implications -- 65%
· Answer checklist questions which drive revenue recognition
· Perform Revenue Recognition Analyses, as applicable, leading to multi-element revenue allocations
· Create revenue schedules to post revenue to the ledger
· Carefully review Revenue Accountant’s work (checklist questions, revenue schedules, and Revenue Recognition Analyses)
Responsibility #2 – Analyses, Review, and Ad-Hoc Projects -- 20%
· Review Contract Costs workbooks, reconciliations, and journal entries prepared by Revenue Accountant
· Prepare and/or review ad-hoc analyses as they arise
· Undertake process improvement projects
Responsibility #3 – Month-End Close -- 15%
· Work collaboratively with team on revenue posting activities (exception reports, revenue schedules)
· Prepare various journal entries as well as the underlying support workbooks
· Review monthly budget to actuals variances
· Prepare or review ledger account reconciliations
· Prepare and/or assist with the close processes to which you are assigned
