Salary: London ranging from £56,400 to £65,000 per annum – Salary offered will be based on skills and experience

The Team/Department

The Operational Excellence Team is part of the Digital Support, Business and Learning Department within Enforcement Intelligence and Specialist Services (EISS). The team provide a wide range of services to the Enforcement and Market Oversight (EMO) division including knowledge and learning, production of management information, recruitment, dealing with Freedom of Information act requests, risk management on behalf of the division and providing operational support to investigation teams.

What you will be doing (the role)

  • This Senior Associate role will work with a Lead Associate, the knowledge and learning (K&L) team as part of a small cadre of trainers playing a key role in delivery of our core Investigation Academy training to EMO colleagues and beyond within the FCA

  • Regular delivery of the modules of the Investigation Foundation Course and other training to new joiners and existing colleagues aligned to the FCA design and delivery standards

  • Playing an active role in drafting, reviewing, and updating training materials, policy and guidance documents as required

  • Working with subject matter experts and Human Resources Organisational Capability to fill knowledge and skills gaps aligned to the FCA approach to development

  • Playing a role in obtaining accreditation for our training, quality assurance, governance, and reporting

  • Line management of junior team members and providing support across the Operational Excellence Team as required

You will have a high profile within EMO and beyond as we look for ways to integrate the ways we work across the FCA. The skills and experience you will have  

Minimum

  • Demonstrable and significant investigation experience

  • Experience of developing and delivering professional training

  • Experience of investigatory processes, law, and regulation (e.g., Financial Services Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) and Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (CPIA) etc)

Essential

  • Detailed understanding and direct experience of all key stages of an investigation lifecycle likely to be encountered at a regulator like the FCA

  • Excellent written skills, demonstrating the ability to present clear, understandable, and accessible content

  • Ability to carry out review and updating of policy and guidance, ensuring it is accurate and reliable before wider circulation

  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the ability to vary the design and delivery of materials suited to a specific audience

  • Excellent stakeholder management ability

  • The ability to effectively lead training sessions face to face, hybrid and online

  • Professional understanding of the needs of learners, knowledge management and creative training techniques
