Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Associate Director, Wealth Management & Regulatory Controller (12-month contract), you will be responsible for leading the Hong Kong finance function with a focus on operational excellence, regulatory integrity, and strategic business partnership. This role support Platform Controller/CFO, ensuring that RBC’s financial reporting and control environment are robust while driving process transformation and team development.

What will you do?

  • Financial Governance & Regulatory Oversight
    • Lead the preparation and initial sign-off of monthly financial statements, ensuring strict alignment with RBC Group and local regulatory standards (Management & Legal views).
    • Act as the primary engine for GL reconciliation and attestation, ensuring a "zero-defect" control environment.
    • Manage the External Audit relationship, coordinating the delivery of all requirements to ensure a seamless year-end process.
    • Review and challenge regulatory returns to ensure they meet HKMA/local standards before final submission.
  • Strategic Business Partnership & Analytics
    • Partner with Business Heads to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic objectives.
    • Provide financial "stress-testing" and input for New Business Initiatives (NBI) and Project Approval Requests.
    • Collaborate with the Regional Finance Hub to enhance Management Information (MI) and data analytics for the HK leadership team.
  • Project Leadership & Change Management
    • Own the local implementation of Head Office (HO) projects and new accounting standards (e.g., IFRS updates) within the HK entity.
    • Drive process optimization by identifying manual workflows and implementing automation or system enhancements.
    • Serve as the key finance lead for offshore projects, ensuring HK requirements are represented in global initiatives.
  • Tax, TP & Compliance
    • Act as the central point of contact for Tax and Transfer Pricing (TP) matters related to Hong Kong entities.
    • Ensure all intercompany reporting and statutory filings are compliant with local tax laws.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree or equivalent is required.
  • 10–12 years of post-qualification experience in Financial Services (Wholesale/Wealth Management preferred).
  • Strong mastery of IFRS and local regulatory reporting.
  • Proven track record of managing small-to-medium teams and navigating a global matrix organization.
  • Qualified Accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, with a professional attitude and presentation skill.
  • Proactive, with a high attention to details.
