The Healthcare Account Director (HAD) is responsible for owning and growing strategic customer relationships within an assigned territory by driving long-term value creation, portfolio-based selling, and customer lifecycle management.

The HAD acts as the single point of accountability for Elekta’s relationship with key healthcare providers, ensuring alignment between clinical needs, operational objectives, and Elekta’s comprehensive oncology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Account Management

  • Own and execute account strategies for assigned customers, for private healthcare institutions.

  • Develop multi-year account plans aligned with customer clinical, operational, and financial goals.

  • Build trusted executive-level relationships (C-suite, clinical leadership, biomedical, procurement).

  • Position Elekta as a long-term strategic partner, not only an equipment supplier.

2. Portfolio & Value-Based Selling

  • Lead portfolio selling across Elekta’s full oncology offering (linacs, software, service, upgrades, and solutions).

  • Articulate clinical, operational, and economic value propositions, including adaptive radiotherapy, service models, and lifecycle optimization.

  • Drive solution-oriented discussions that link technology to outcomes, efficiency, and sustainability.

  • Ensure consistent use of standardized Elekta messaging and value frameworks in customer presentations.

3. Commercial Ownership & Deal Leadership

  • Own the commercial process end-to-end, from opportunity identification through contract signature.

  • Lead complex negotiations involving pricing, financing options, contract structure, and risk management.

  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to deliver compliant, competitive, and profitable proposals.

  • Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM discipline.

4. Customer Experience & Lifecycle Management

  • Ensure excellence in customer experience, including installation, clinical adoption, and ongoing relationship management.

  • Proactively manage escalations, risks, and customer satisfaction in partnership with Service and Clinical teams.

  • Identify expansion opportunities through upgrades, software, service extensions, and new technologies.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the orchestrator of Elekta’s internal resources for assigned accounts.

  • Collaborate closely with: Service teams (uptime, contracts, customer satisfaction) Clinical & Applications teams (education, adoption, outcomes) Finance & Legal (approvals, compliance, contracting)

  • Represent the voice of the customer internally to influence strategy and execution.

6. Compliance, Ethics & Governance

  • Operate in full compliance with Elekta policies, local regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Ensure all commercial activities follow governance, approval, and documentation requirements.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Order intake and revenue growth

  • Portfolio penetration and share of wallet

  • Customer satisfaction and retention

  • Pipeline quality and forecast accuracy

  • Strategic account plan execution

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Healthcare, or related field

  • Strong experience in healthcare, medical devices, or complex B2B sales

  • Proven ability to manage large, complex accounts and long sales cycles

  • Demonstrated success in value-based or solution selling

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and executive presence

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization

  • Willingness to travel within assigned territory

Preferred

  • Experience in Radiation Oncology or Oncology solutions

  • Understanding of healthcare systems, reimbursement, and capital equipment procurement

  • MBA or advanced commercial/strategic training
