Introduction to the Team
Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.
The Multi-Channel Shopping (MCS) Tech team is a large, globally distributed engineering organization responsible for personalized shopping experiences across Expedia Group brands and lines of business that help travelers move from discovery to booking. This Tech Program Manager III role is embedded within the Tech Leadership Team, running and evolving the cross-org operational programs — from developer productivity and AI enablement to cost efficiency and leadership rhythms — that keep the organization aligned, efficient, and performing.
In this role, you will:
Design and execute operational programs that span across the subdivision — including developer productivity, AI enablement initiatives, cloud cost optimization, site leader programs, hackathons, and engineering showcases — with clear charters, milestones, and success metrics
Operate and continuously improve the leadership operating cadence, including technical health metric reviews and architecture reviews; maintain agendas, track decisions, and ensure follow-through
Build and maintain metrics, dashboards, and clear narratives that give leaders a real-time view of program health, risks, and tradeoffs across the organization
Translate ambiguous leadership decisions and strategy into concrete plans, cadences, and communications, then drive day-to-day execution across the org
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, coordinating with stakeholders to anticipate, surface, and escalate blockers before they impact program outcomes
Drive operational hygiene and change execution — including org structure, finance systems, and tooling hygiene — coordinating with HR, Finance, and platform partners
Support cross-org learning and engagement programs — including AI showcases, hackathons, builder events, and learning opportunities — that strengthen technical learning, cross-pollination, and recognition across the team
Synthesize technical and business context into concise, audience-tailored communications for audiences ranging from individual contributors to VP+ leadership
Design and maintain lightweight playbooks, templates, and AI-assisted workflows that create self-service options and reduce operational friction for leaders and teams
Apply whole-systems thinking to assess bottlenecks in organizational processes, identify efficiency opportunities, and drive continuous improvement across org boundaries
Build trusted cross-functional relationships with Senior Leaders, Finance, HRBP, Developer Relations, and CTO Office to keep programs healthy and resolve misalignments early
Experience and Qualifications
Required
4–6 years of experience in technical program management or program management in a technology-centric environment; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience
Demonstrated experience planning and executing cross-functional programs spanning multiple teams or functions
Comfortable operating in technical environments and collaborating closely with engineers
Proven ability to translate ambiguous ideas into concrete mechanisms — such as building new operating forums, standardizing workflows, or rolling out org-wide programs
Able to self-serve data from dashboards and BI tools, and translate into insights and recommendations for senior leaders
Proficient written and verbal communication skills, and experience facilitating working sessions across diverse stakeholder groups
Preferred
Experience in a BizOps, chief of staff, or operations role supporting a technology leadership team
Hands-on experience using AI tools and agentic workflows to improve operational efficiency — including areas like reporting automation, communications drafting, or self-service tooling for teams
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle in a technology organization
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
