Summary

Workiva seeks a seasoned Senior Accounting Manager to lead and develop a small accounting team. This role demands a strategic thinker who can oversee month-end close processes, ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with local regulations, and manage complex accounting projects independently. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze month-end reconciliations as part of the close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements

  • Coordinate and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the general ledger (GL) area of accounting, produce work papers and analysis for external audits, and the public company quarterly review process

  • Lead the timely preparation, audit, and filing of statutory financial reports for our international entities

  • Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and all Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) documentation and requirements

  • Manage a broad range of projects, many of which require extensive research and analysis of internal or external data, provide recommendations to management, and implement recommendations.

  • Initiate, drive, and complete cross-functional work with other teams across the organization

  • Lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness by monitoring emerging technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process without sacrificing accuracy and accountability

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed and other projects as assigned by management

  • Provide guidance and training to the team

What You'll Need

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including in publicly traded companies

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+  years of experience working at Big 4 accounting firms

  • Experience preparing and reviewing external financial reports in accordance with local statutory reporting

  • Experience with ERP systems, other finance systems (e.g., Blackline, FloQast, Workiva, Workday, etc.), and advanced Excel skill

  • Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and drive teams to deliver world-class services and high-impact results

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Must be able to multitask and manage multiple projects, processes, programs, and procedures simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact and build relationships across all levels of the organization  

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Minimal travel for internal meetings

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office

How You’ll Be Rewarded

✅ Salary range in the US: $126,000.00 - $214,000.00

✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
