Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to Integer’s Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Studies specifications from CAD models, blueprints, sketches or tool descriptions and plans sequence of operation to construct.
  • Operates tool room equipment at a high-level of competency which may include, but is also not limited to: CNC mill, CNC Electrical Discharge Machines (EDMs), manual and/or wire EDMs, surface grinders, manual mills, manual lathes, drill presses, and array of hand tools.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of stages of tooling.
  • Plans, constructs, and repairs a variety of tool, dies, jigs, gauges and fixtures to close tolerances.
  • Demonstrates high-level expertise and experience with equipment.
  • Stays abreast of new and developing technology required for position in order to account for any possible changes.
  • May provide guidance to lower level Toolmakers.
  • Maintain proper documentation of work produced.
  • Interacts horizontally with R&D, PD&E, EHSS, Production, and Quality Associates on a daily basis.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: High School graduate required. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum Experience: High school graduate with 7+ years of related experience. Associate’s Degree with 4-6 years of related experience. Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of related experience. Journeymen certification/paperwork also may be required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Special Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply it in operating tool room equipment. Demonstrated competency at the master level as defined by the National Institute of Metalworking Skills(NIMS).
    • Basic TIG or Tool room welding are a plus.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints. Strong computer operation skills.
