Team Description:
Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) is responsible for engineering, designing & operating telecommunications and network system to meet business requirement, goals and objectives encompassing a wide range of transport topologies, advanced networking services and network protocols that are in accordance with Telecom Strategy & Architecture standards and guidelines. The Principal Network Engineer represents Telecom from a technology perspective and collaborates with Business units’ IT, Business units’ management, IT security, Data Center hosting, IT facilities, Voice Services and application architecture teams across all phases of the infrastructure lifecycle.
Responsibilities of Role:
The key responsibilities of this position include providing network design, implementation and operations, collaborating with the larger NEO organization to solution technology solutions to meet business requirement, designing Telecommunications/Network solutions, providing IT engineering consultation to the business units, and assisting management in leading the NEO’s team supporting Disney Experiences.
This is a network engineering role responsible for the integration of all technologies used & leveraged withing TWDC, regional/metro/local area networks, data centers, Internet perimeters, wireless infrastructure and Cloud-based network services. Additional responsibilities include design and implementation of segment driven network initiatives, such as theme park attractions. The position is also responsible for understanding and interpreting global technical and business requirements to apply converged technologies to support Disney Experiences. This includes participation in discovery, documentation, validation / refinement of solutions while considering opportunities for re-use of standard solutions and technologies.
Engineering, Design & Operations
Develops and provides Design Requirement Document consists of technical & business requirements and engineering design to suppliers.
Reviews Supplier proposed designs and implementation projects are in line with architectural and network security guidelines. Provides knowledge and technology transfer to internal Disney infrastructure organizations and the data delivery staff.
Ability to provide Operational excellence in a fast paced, highly complex environment adhering to company standards of design, architecture, and delivery.
Troubleshoot complex network issues across layers 1–7, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
Develops and communicates project design and proposal and obtains approvals from all stakeholders (business units management, Technical Relationship Management and Enterprise IT management).
Provides operational support, if needed 24/7, of all network systems supporting Disneyland Resort and surrounding areas. Managing and responding to incidents and bringing resolution based on predefined internal SLA/OLA.
Delivers/implements network design and physical deployments as needed for sustainment and (business) expansion.
Collaborates with Strategy and Architect NEO Teams, Voice Engineering, other IT service groups, and IT Suppliers to develop technology solution and operational model that is in line with all IT standards and guidelines.
Consults with other service towers within and out of NEO on available network solutions and advanced service product options available to meet business units’ requirements. Designs customized solutions as required to support Business objectives and goals.
Meets with vendors (when called upon) to evaluate product offerings, addresses technical issues/deficiencies and influences new products and services to meet growing and changing business requirements.
Maintains knowledge of emerging trends in the industry through participation in user groups, and disciplined monitoring of periodicals, research groups (ex. Gartner, Forester, Burton).
Collaborates with peers during standards / product development.
Participates in operational support of GNEO managed networks. Evaluates and drives Incident and Problem management as needed/required.
Leverage automation and network management tools to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
Collaborates with leadership for operational enhancement and improvement activities for the purpose of elevation of operational service delivery and overall process improvement for business segments. Manages the delivery of key business units’ telecom/network initiatives and operational delivery for (DX).
Basic Qualifications:
3 years progressive data communications experience with at least 2 years developing enterprise telecom engineering & architecture.
3 years progressive data communications operational experience with focus on digital media convergence (voice / video / data / media).
Ability to analyze fairly complex data and develop innovative solutions.

Demonstrated experience in operations, design & engineering large complex IT project utilizing structured engineering/design life cycle.
Ability to professionally handle multiple tasks in a pressured environment and ability to prioritize projects and establish schedules for their timely completion.
Demonstrated knowledge/experience in enterprise networking with knowledge and experience in technology integration and network design and Operations.
Knowledge and understanding of engineering and architectures including: DWDM, MPLS, TCP/IP version 4 & 6, Wireless & Controller, Ethernet, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Cisco HW and SW (IOS/CATOS/NX-OS), WAN Acceleration technologies, Fire Walls, IPS, Load Balancer, Security protocols (IPSEC/TLS/EAP), TRILL, OTV, QoS and IP Multicast.
Proven technical expertise in the integration of network devices and services in a multi-platform computer and network.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE, Juniper Certifications, ITIL Foundations, PMBOK or other Project management certification.
Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) and infrastructure as code concepts.
Familiarity with zero trust, micro‑segmentation, and SASE/SD‑WAN architectures.
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), transit/Virtual WAN, and hybrid connectivity.
Knowledge of wireless design (site surveys, RF planning, controllers) and performance tuning.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
