Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager of Medical Imaging Services, the Supervisor of MIS – CT leads and manages the operational activities for assigned sections/modalities, locations, and support areas. While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibilities are supervising all day-to-day operations including the delivery of care, perform medical imaging exams, human resource management, equipment oversight, financial management, and performance improvement activities.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise staff for CT

  • Interview and hire qualified job applicants.

  • Orient applicants and/or new caregivers on the overall job requirements, policies, and work procedures.

  • Delegate work duties and responsibilities.

  • Prepare formal performance evaluations, discusses evaluations with caregivers.

  • Counsel caregivers on unsatisfactory performance and/or work behavior.

  • Work in conjunction with Radiologists and Monument Health management and Quality Coordinators to develop materials used to teach the technological staff.

  • Analyze monthly operating and financial statements for areas of responsibility.

  • Responsible for acquiring, managing, and ensuring optimal usage of consumable supply inventories for areas assigned.

  • Develop optimal staffing models to meet operational needs and budgetary constraints.

  • Ensure staff comply with safety and regulatory program requirements.

  • Check status of imaging equipment function and oversee preventative maintenance on imaging systems to ensure all instrumentation is safe and in good working condition.

  • Responsible for accreditation in section including State, TJC, ACR, MQSA, NRC, etc.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies

Graduate - Radiology Program

Experience - 3 + years of Medical Imaging Technologists Experience

Certification - **Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); (ARRT)(R)(CT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with advanced CT certification 

Preferred:

Education:   Bachelor’s degree in Related Field or 3 years of Medical Imaging leadership experience

Experience - 1+ years of Supervisor Experience; 5+ years of Radiographer experience
 

**Policy Number: MIS-7040-115 - Caregivers must be BLS certified upon employment or within their 90-day probation period.

Physical Requirements: Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
