POSITION SUMMARY:

The Outdoor Adventure Supervisor coordinates and supervises the daily operations of Winter Park Resort’s Outdoor Adventure offerings, including Winter Park Guides, Tours, and other activities. This position will help oversee the daily operations of all tours and guides. They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all Outdoor Adventure offerings and will oversee a large team of staff to ensure a memorable experience for our guests. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership and guest service skills, and consistently display safe and ethical work practices. The Outdoor Adventure Supervisor will be part of a dynamic team, creating unique mountain experiences for employees and guests. This position can include some after hours shifts to help oversee our evening offerings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall experience of Winter Park Guides guests, including on time meet up, friendly and knowledgeable service, and creating a fun atmosphere.
  • Guide guests on snowshoe, ski bike, and other winter tours at Winter Park Resort.
  • Follow all policies and procedures that are specific to the Outdoor Adventure Division, as well as Winter Park Resort policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and company policies with respect to workplace safety and work to achieve a zero-incident safety record.
  • Understand the retail and booking process and assist guests within our store locations.
  • Have a working knowledge of RTP and other booking systems. Responsible for accepting payments and making reservations for tours. 
  • Ability to sell retail and maintain a stocked inventory in a retail setting.
  • Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all Outdoor Adventure skis, snowboards, SnoGo bikes, and snowshoes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of activities within the resort and surrounding community. Help curate adventure experiences for guests.
  • Uphold a schedule of guiding and store hours.
  • Will adhere to direct and strict compliance with all safety standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience skiing/riding at Winter Park Resort
  • First Aid and CPR Certified
  • Willingness to work outdoors and work a varied schedule of weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment with an emphasis on employee and guest experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

WAGE:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
 

Hourly pay range: $22.50 – 25.50 / hr

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear, and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc.
  • The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
  • Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
  • Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultraviolet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude.  Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to harsh and varying outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.
