As a Material Handling Line Coordinator MLD supporting the Manufacturing Team, you will be trusted to assist and support the Supervisor in the planning/organizing of daily activities and schedules of production associates who are engaged in the production of medical device products and/or components and to manage projects and process improvements within assigned areas, all while maintaining regulatory compliance at Houston, Texas.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Assist the front-line Supervisor, by providing leadership, training oversight, work direction recommendations for associates and shift-to-shift communication.
  • Work with all four Molding shifts, acting as backup for the other Molding Line Coordinators while focusing on materials flow.
  • Learn how Molding department operates, control material flow from raw material to finished components, including order open/close.
  • Work closely with Material Handlers to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform CNSPPS and SAP transactions related to opening production orders, inventory controls, and material movements.
  • Mange to Performing material and product allocation duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices.
  • Coordinate nonconformance products segregation and disposition including reworking, opening, and closing quality notifications.
  • Handle raw materials and supplies ordering including maintaining safety stock, opening purchase orders, and escalating material shortages.
  • Support implementation of new process to ship molded components to Alcon Batam.
  • Operates following established policies and procedures to meet production commitments within Alcon’s standards (production, quality, cost, conduct, and safety)
  • Provide on-shift and cross-shift feedback on all key performance indicators.
  • Manages conflict and deals effectively with others in a diverse workforce.
  • Provide support during process/quality investigations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
  • Work hours: Tuesday- Friday, 11:00 am - 9:30 pm CST
