Position Summary:

The Human Resources Business Partner role contributes to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of Arch Insurance, N.A business objectives. Performs HR related duties at the professional level and typically in support of two or more business units. Will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: performance and talent management consultation, employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application, organizational design, and employee engagement & retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy and goals.
  • Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions to include employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.
  • Understands employee engagement and retention issues and works with management to create sustainable solutions.
  • Partners with Talent Acquisition as needed in the recruitment process for client groups, particularly at the senior management level.  
  • Partners with HR Ops, Payroll; HRIS, Learning & Development, Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for clients.
  • All other duties assigned, including special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law.
  • Proven client management and business literacy skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at multiple levels;
  • Self- motivated and able to work successfully independently and collaboratively with peers and stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to use data to make sound recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
  • Demonstrated project management skills along with experience in organizational design, workforce planning and change management.
  • Proven skills in MS office suite, internet and data-base management
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of HRBP or Generalist experience 
  • Multi-site location client support experience a plus
  • P&C Insurance industry experience a plus
  • PHR/SPHR desired
  • Up to 20% travel required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business related field
