About Sanofi

We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

About the job

Shape the Future of Immunology in Canada:

This is not just a leadership role — it is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of science, strategy, and patient impact at one of the most exciting moments in immunology. As Country Medical Head, Immunology for Canada, you will be the scientific architect behind two of Sanofi's most transformative medicines: Dupixent® (dupilumab), the world's leading biologic for type 2 inflammatory diseases, and Kevzara® (sarilumab), a cornerstone therapy in rheumatoid arthritis. You will lead a high-performing medical team, shape the national medical strategy, and serve as the foremost scientific voice for immunology in Canada — all in service of patients whose lives depend on the medicines we champion.

If you are a bold, scientifically driven medical leader who thrives at the frontier of innovation and is passionate about making a measurable difference, this role was built for you.

In immunology, Sanofi has established itself as a global powerhouse. Dupixent, developed in partnership with Regeneron, has redefined the treatment paradigm for type 2 inflammation — approved across atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis, prurigo nodularis, and beyond — with a robust pipeline that continues to expand its reach. Kevzara brings meaningful relief to patients living with rheumatoid arthritis and polymyalgia rheumatica, with a growing body of evidence supporting its clinical value.

In Canada, we are building on this momentum — and we need an exceptional leader to drive it forward.

The Opportunity:

The Country Medical Head, Immunology is a pivotal strategic leadership role within Sanofi Canada's Medical Affairs organization. You will own the end-to-end medical strategy for Dupixent and Kevzara across all approved and emerging indications, ensuring that Canadian patients have timely access to cutting-edge therapies supported by the strongest possible scientific evidence.

This role demands a rare combination of deep scientific expertise, strategic vision, and authentic leadership. You will partner closely with cross-functional leaders across Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, and Clinical Development, while building trusted relationships with Canada's most influential clinicians, researchers, and patient advocacy communities.

You will report directly to the Country Head Medical Affairs Specialty Care, and play a key role in shaping the broader Medical Affairs strategy for Specialty Care in Canada.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Medical Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute the Canadian medical affairs strategy for Dupixent and Kevzara across all current and pipeline indications — including dermatology, respirology, gastroenterology, and rheumatology — ensuring alignment with global strategy while reflecting the unique needs of the Canadian healthcare landscape.

  • Scientific Leadership & KOL Engagement: Build and sustain deep, trust-based relationships with leading Key Opinion Leaders, academic medical centers, and clinical networks across Canada. Drive meaningful scientific exchange, advisory boards, and peer-to-peer education that advances the understanding and appropriate use of our medicines.

  • Evidence Generation & Dissemination: Lead the design and execution of Canadian medical evidence generation activities — including investigator-initiated studies, real-world evidence programs, and registry participation — and ensure robust dissemination of data through publications, congresses, and scientific platforms.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the medical authority and strategic partner to Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, and Patient Advocacy teams, providing scientific guidance that enables optimal patient access, reimbursement, and brand positioning.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, inspire, and develop a team of Medical Science Liaisons and medical affairs professionals, fostering a culture of scientific excellence, accountability, and continuous growth. Champion talent development and succession planning within the immunology medical team.

  • Medical Education & Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality, balanced medical education initiatives for healthcare professionals across Canada, ensuring alignment with medical and ethical standards.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Stewardship: Ensure all medical affairs activities are conducted in full compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements, Sanofi's global policies, and the highest standards of medical ethics and scientific integrity.

  • Pipeline & Launch Readiness: Anticipate and prepare for upcoming Dupixent indication expansions and lifecycle opportunities, building the medical infrastructure, evidence base, and stakeholder relationships needed for successful launches in Canada.

  • Budget Management: Oversee the immunology medical affairs budget with strategic discipline, ensuring resources are allocated to the highest-impact activities and that financial commitments are met with transparency and accountability.

  • External Partnerships: Cultivate strategic partnerships with patient advocacy organizations, professional medical associations, academic institutions, and health technology assessment bodies to advance the scientific and patient access agenda for immunology in Canada.

About You

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD), doctoral degree (PhD, PharmD) in a relevant life sciences discipline: dermatology, respirology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, allergy/immunology, or a related specialty strongly preferred

  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry, with significant tenure in Medical Affairs

  • Deep expertise in immunology, with demonstrated knowledge across type 2 inflammatory diseases and/or rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Proven leadership experience, including direct management of medical affairs teams and cross-functional influence at a senior level

  • Track record of KOL engagement and scientific exchange at a national level, with established relationships in the Canadian medical community considered a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of the Canadian healthcare system, including Health Canada regulatory processes, CDA/INESSS HTA frameworks, and provincial reimbursement landscapes

  • Exceptional communication skills — able to translate complex science into compelling narratives for diverse audiences, from clinicians to payers to patients

  • Must be fluent in English and possess superb written and verbal communication skills; bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset, reflecting the bilingual nature of the Canadian market

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Therapeutic area depth in more than one immunology-related specialty (e.g., dermatology, respirology and gastroenterology, or rheumatology and allergy), reflecting Dupixent's multi-indication profile

  • Launch experience — you have successfully led or contributed to major biologic or specialty medicine launches in Canada or comparable markets, and you understand what it takes to build momentum from day one

  • Strategic thinking at scale — you see beyond the immediate horizon, anticipating shifts in the competitive landscape, clinical guidelines, and payer environment, and you position your team to lead rather than react

  • Stakeholder mastery — you are a natural relationship builder who earns trust quickly, navigates complex organizational dynamics with grace, and influences without authority

  • Publication and congress presence — you have contributed to peer-reviewed literature, presented at major scientific congresses, or led advisory boards that have shaped clinical practice

  • Coaching and mentorship mindset — you are as invested in the growth of your team as you are in your own, and you leave every organization stronger than you found it

  • Experience with real-world evidence design and execution in a Canadian or comparable healthcare context
