The SFARI Project Coordinator supports the SFARI science team to ensure that various projects are efficiently organized and executed to fulfill SFARI’s mission. This position requires in-depth knowledge of SFARI operations, grants portfolio processes, and data and administrative needs.

The SFARI Project Coordinator formally reports to the SFARI Senior Executive Assistant/Administrative Manager and will work closely under the guidance of the SFARI Project Manager and the Autism and Neuroscience Student and Fellow Program Manager. They will work closely with members of the SFARI science and administrative teams, and the Autism and Neuroscience early career team. The SFARI Project Coordinator will help manage SFARI and Autism and Neuroscience workshops and events, in collaboration with the Simons Foundation events management team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and facilitate SFARI workshops and ensure they are planned in accordance with SFARI’s standards of excellence.
  • Provide organizational support for Consortia and Collaborations, including but not limited to facilitating events and quarterly calls for the Autism Rat Models Consortium (ARC) and SFARI Collaboration on Sex Differences in Autism (SSDC).
  • Assist SFARI Project Manager with the annual SFARI Investigator Meeting, including but not limited to management of event-related data and data analysis.
  • Work with the Student and Fellow Program Manager to provide support for programs and special projects supporting autism and neuroscience early career scientists, including the Fellows to Faculty Retreat, Shenoy Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Neuroscience and other events for the autism and neuroscience grantee community.
  • Project Coordination: Build and maintain Monday.com boards within the Division of Autism and Neuroscience. Create Standard Operating Procedures and timelines for SFARI workshops and related programs.
  • Archiving: Provide ongoing assistance with the Simons Foundation Archiving Project and archive and organize SFARI Dropbox files and Google Drive.
  • Meet regularly with the SFARI Senior Executive Assistant/Administrative Manager and the SFARI Project Manager to coordinate tasks and ongoing projects and deliverables.
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of project coordination experience
  • Background or experience in grant-making preferred
  • Experience with project management and automation software; Monday.com, Airtable, Zapier preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
