Job Description

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will be responsible for developing plans, procedures, and equipment for the testing of liquid rocket engine controller hardware, as well as execution of acceptance and qualification testing. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, complete, and report avionics development, qualification, and acceptance testing

  • Performing tests or ensuring that Technicians are able to do so

  • Analyzing Environmental/EMI data

  • Use measurement and analysis to determine root causes for failures in avionics testing

  • Identify and mitigate test execution risks

  • Collaborate with internal and external labs for test execution

  • Assist Test Equipment development activities

  • Perform and work comfortably in an environmental and EMI lab environment

  • Perform hardware requirements traceability and verification

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related field

  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting electronics testing.

  • 2+ years of hardware development, integration, systems engineering and/or testing experience.

  • Practical and analytical understanding of analog and digital electronics

  • Experience performing hardware requirements traceability and verification

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills regarding technical subjects.

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the following standards; RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and/or MIL-STD-461

  • Familiarity with sensors including linear variable differential transformers (LVDT), resistance temperature detectors (RTD), thermocouples, pressure transducers, resolvers, and accelerometers

  • Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, Linux

  • Proficiency configuring and troubleshooting test networks

  • Experience programming, debugging, and troubleshooting devices with microcontrollers

  • Experience with git for SW development

  • Graduate degree in electrical, computer, aerospace engineering or a related field


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $109,980.00-$153,972.00
