Position Summary:

At Pax8, we are transforming to become a product-led organization, and this applies to our People Team. In our Learning & Talent Development function we are on a mission to make high-quality learning and development products that engage learners, build skills and grow careers.  We are adopting an Agile HR approach, focusing on delivering the highest business value in the shortest time possible. As a Learning & Talent Development Product Manager (Skills Enablement), you will own and drive the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution of skill and capability development products. You will work cross-functionally with People business partners, business stakeholders, and enabling functions such as Talent Management and People Operations to build, market, and optimize scalable learning products that drive business impact.

 

This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, product management expertise, AI-enabled learning technology knowledge, and a deep understanding of workforce skills development. You will balance business objectives with learner needs, ensuring Pax8 employees are equipped with the capabilities necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

 

This is a leadership role that requires a high degree of business acumen, stakeholder influence, and the ability to translate talent development challenges into innovative, AI-powered learning solutions.

Personal Contribution:

The Learning & Talent Development Product Manager (Skills Enablement) acts as a subject matter expert in skill and capability development, leading Pax8’s overall skills-based transformation and ensuring that Learning & Talent Development products leverage best practices and innovations within the industry while meeting learner needs and aligning with business goals and People Team priorities. They drive innovation in Learning & Talent Development, ensuring products are AI-enabled, data-driven, iterative, and deliver measurable impact. Managing a backlog of feature requests and deliverables across a portfolio of skill and capability development products, they will balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making informed trade-offs to maximize value delivery in an AI-enabled environment. They must serve as a connector, collaborating with other People functions, Tech Services, business leaders, and employees to drive adoption and success.

 

This role is ideal for someone who brings a blend of AI-enabled skill building expertise, Agile methodologies, product management, and learning experience design—someone who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, driving results through data-driven decision-making and stakeholder collaboration. In year one, skill development at Pax8 is expected to focus heavily on AI enablement and driving a healthy, high-performance culture.

Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap Management

Define and drive the strategic vision, roadmap, and business case for skills enablement products.

Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and internal assessments to identify key opportunities for AI-enabled workforce skill development.

Partner with People Team and business leaders to ensure learning products align with organizational talent strategy and business priorities.

Develop and maintain a product portfolio strategy, ensuring scalability, learner-centric design, and continuous iteration based on data insights.

Stakeholder Management & Business Alignment

Act as the primary liaison between Learning & Talent Development, Talent Management, and People Business Partners on skill enablement initiatives.

Influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams on learning investment decisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Champion AI-powered skill development, positioning Pax8 as a leader in innovative workforce learning.

Drive change management initiatives, ensuring high adoption and engagement of learning solutions across global teams.

Agile Product Development & Execution

Lead Agile product development efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to prototype, build, and iterate on skill development solutions.

Oversee the learning product lifecycle, from concept and MVP to continuous improvement, ensuring optimal learner experience and impact.

Define and manage the product backlog, making trade-offs based on data insights, learner feedback, and business impact.

Ensure all skill enablement products integrate seamlessly with learning technologies (LMS, Talent Marketplaces, AI-driven learning platforms).

Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners to inform product portfolio as needed.  

 

 

Learner-Centred Design & Experience Optimization

Leverage design thinking and human-centred design to research and refine learner experience needs:

  • Identify and document personas to aid creation of learner stories and product design
  • Map learner journeys to ensure learner-centric design over People Team efficiency
  • Partner with the UX Research team to support best practice in this area

Conduct user research, learner interviews, and data analysis to refine product features.

Monitor product performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize content, experience, and delivery.

Embed AI and automation to scale skill development across Pax8.

Go-To-Market & Change Management

Act as a regional lead for the Learning & Talent Development team, supporting global product launches. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for skill enablement products.

Drive learner adoption and engagement through communication, training, and support initiatives.

Partner with People business partners, internal communications and change management teams to ensure smooth rollouts and sustained impact.

Train and coach internal facilitators to deliver facilitated learning events as needed, ensuring quality delivery globally.

Monitor product performance, iterating based on insights and business feedback.

 

 

Participation in Communities of Practice

Stay informed on industry trends in AI-enabled workforce development, skills-based hiring, and learning innovation.

Actively participate in Communities of Practice, sharing insights and best practices with peers across Pax8.

Continuously evolve learning strategies, integrating cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • At least seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant work experience is essential with a deep understanding of skill enablement, HR, and/or talent management. Previous experience in a tech environment preferred.
  • Global Operator: Experience working with diverse stakeholders across borders and time zones. Experience collaborating with English as a second language speakers preferred. Direct experience building or managing programs across multiple compliance environments and cultural considerations is a plus.
  • Communication: proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal communications, adapting your style to the needs of your audience. Ability to use communication skills to effectively collaborate asynchronously in a global organization.
  • Data Fluency:  confident with the collection and analysis of relevant data to assess product performance, tell evidenced based stories to stakeholders and make data driven decisions. The ability to establish and track metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Proficiency with Learning Technologies: Experience leveraging AI-enabled learning technology platforms (e.g., LMS, Talent Marketplace, or similar) to deliver innovative, scalable and digital-first talent development solutions.
  • Demonstrated passion for progressive learning and learning and talent development practices: participation or leading in stretch projects that sought an improved or next practice approach to solving a learning and talent development problem or delivering a learning solution.
  • Collaboration: adept at working with diverse stakeholders to solve problems together. Open to alternative perspectives and new ways of doing things, prioritizing the best idea over your idea. Ability to drive a group to a decision and agreement on a way forward.
  • Execution Discipline: Highly organized detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Can build a plan and then work a plan through to completion, adapting with changing conditions
  • Learning agility: you know what to do when you don’t know what to do. Ability to adapt to changing commercial, situational or organizational realities in delivery of your work. Ability to grasp complex ideas and change direction quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Change management: experience planning and delivering change management components of talent development work with a proven ability to drive successful outcomes and accelerated adoption through your efforts.
  • AI Curious: experimenting with AI and embedding it in your day-to-day work beyond meeting notes and drafting documents.
  • Agile HR & Product Thinking: Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), product management, or HR innovation. Proven ability to write clear, actionable learner stories and acceptance criteria for cross-functional teams.
  • Design Thinking & User Research: Ability to apply human-centered design to Learning & Talent Development challenges and product development. Ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights.
  • Go-To-Market Strategy: Proven experience in launching and marketing Learning & Talent Development products or initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities. Ability to translate business needs into product requirements, ensuring alignment across People Systems, Talent Management, People Business partners and leadership.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using analytics to measure impact and inform priorities. Comfortable working with HR analytics, dashboards, and performance metrics to drive decision-making.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Education & Certifications:

  • Agile Product Management: Certified Scrum Product Manager (CSPO)/ SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (SAFe POPM) / MI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

  • Design Thinking / UX: IDEO Design Thinking Certification / Human-Centered Design (HCD) credentials

Compensation:

Qualified candidates can expect a compensation range of $130,000 to $163,000 or more depending on experience.
