Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, Our Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS). IMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-1, KC-135, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
In this role:
You will lead a diverse team of electrical, mechanical, aerospace, and systems engineers to achieve organizational goals.
Provide engineering oversight for efforts within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), to include technical planning, requirements development and tracking, system integration, systems integrations lab (SIL), ground and flight testing, verification and validation, airworthiness, system safety, risk, reliability / maintainability, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Provide analyses that are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, requirements, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
You will lead project teams and be responsible for cost, schedule and performance.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Perform trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Serve as customer contact for program activities, as well as supporting program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product development, integration, and test.
Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules.
Identify program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects.
Participate in presenting company capabilities to potential customers and in the development of potential solutions to customer requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 12 years of experience; 10 years with a Masters; 8 years with a PhD
Proficient ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project)
Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills.
Able to work on-site in Oklahoma City, OK
US Citizenzenship; with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance & specific program access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with tooling design, manufacturing, and verification.
Analyzing tooling and recommend appropriate solutions for re-work or alternative solutions including modern manufacturing methods.
Able to access and interpret changes to engineering drawings.
Experience with composites manufacturing.
Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards.
Identify, analyze, and solve obsolescence issues.
Experience with information security, COMSEC and TEMPEST.
Experience in DOORS and/or Cameo.
Systems Engineering experience in a hardware environment.
Current Active DoD Secret security clearance.
