Purpose

  • Being an integral member of Flowserve Global Technology and Engineering Center in Budapest and acting as a dedicated engineer for Business Unit Engineering Teams.
  • The Engineer is responsible for accelerating the design, development and implementation of new leading-edge technology throughout the enterprise's product portfolio to provide a competitive advantage to Flowserve corporation.
  • This position will coordinate closely with the Engineering teams of the business unit to prioritize the work with the business objectives and strategic initiatives of the operations.
  • The engineer is closely collaborating with the different functions from the 7 Business units and I&T, meeting Flowserwe's annual operation and safety goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Promote a culture that prioritizes customer satisfaction, ethical practices, continuous improvement, and workplace safety.
  • Take ownership of engineering activities. Create/review designs, drawings, technical documentation (using CAD/tools) and generate BOMs (Bill of materials) for engineering products.
  • Review, understand and summarize customer specifications, aid customers by providing technical solutions support.
  • Through adherence to engineering standards and processes, ensure quality, reliability, and market competitiveness in all product designs and their application.
  • Implement engineering best practices and Flowserve standards.
  • Collaborate/coordinate closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g., GTEC, project teams, GES, BU/operations/commercial/sales) to improve the Customer Satisfaction.
  • Adapt/modify existing designs and BOMs to meet order‑specific customer needs (i.e., customization of standard designs).
  • Meet project budgets and fulfill customer requirements ensuring On Time Delivery (OTD) and high quality.
  • Act as an effective change agent, driving adoption and long-term acceptance of target engineering transformations based on strategy, practices, procedures and systems.
  • Conducts engineering analysis under direct supervision on areas such as hydraulic design, vibration, and structural analysis.
  • Support quick response centers (QRC) in inspection & analysis of pump elements.
  • Support DocTrack requests and spare parts business.
  • Work with other Engineers to promptly investigate & resolve shop floor problems relating to design or quality issues; record & report findings, make corrections & help develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions.

Willingness to travel to QRCs to support manufacturing operations and gain hands-on experience.
